Does pale skin look better with light or dark hair?
It really depends on how you want to look! My friend has really paper white skin and she likes having really white blond hair and i think it suits her. she doesn't look albino and in my opinion its really only the paler people who can pull of white blond hair. though if you dont wear eye makeup you could look slightly albino. this is what she looks like (its not her though): http://www.beautiesofcanada.com/hist_ven... Does dark or light hair look better with tan skin?
im naturally tan and i was born with light brown hair with natural blonde highlights... i dyed my hair red and it looked good lol but its faded now... school is starting in a week and this weekend im going to dye my hair at a salon.. i just need to know whether i should get dark brown hair, light brown, or dark on top and lighter at the bottom like ombre... im naturally tan and have green-hazel eyes. thanks..
Does short hair look better darker or lighter?
I have short hair and I'm blond, I receive good compliments on it. Have a look at Pink's hair, I think she has a cool style. It could look good with dark or light hair. Or you could get some high lights to bring out the layers. But if you want to go blond, you would have ot bleach your or have your colour stripped out if you want to go blond, that can be very damaging to your hair if you don't take care of it. Just make sure you go to a good stylist (not some place like super cuts) and get a good cut before you do the colour.

Why does hair look darker when wet?
When light strikes dry hair, some of it is absorbed by the pigment in the hair and some reflects back to your eyes. Water is transparent and a thin film absorbs very little light by itself. But when light hits wet hair, some of the light reflecting off the surface of the hair strikes the inside surface of the water film at the right angle to be reflected or refracted back onto the hair again. This creates a second chance for the light to be absorbed, making the hair appear darker.
Do lighter hair shades make your skin look lighter or darker?
It wont make me edit the question & type a description so here it is:So me and a group of my friends got in a friendly debate today. I brought up that I was thinking about going up a few shades in hair color. My natural hair color is black, and I was thinking of going to like a dark ash brown (a very dark dirty blonde) I have a warm skin tone but on the lighter side and dark brown eyes since i’m middle eastern.Anyways, we began discussing whether lighter hair shades make you lighter, a lot of us agreed that it does because it makes you look paler, cools your complexion, and since lighter hair shades are usually associated with fair-skinned people, it's sort of an optical illusion that makes you look lighter.But also darker hair shades make you look lighter, because of the contrast of your skin and the dark hair and that lighter hair makes your skin look darker because of the contrast as well?I don't know what to do. I dont wanna look darker/tanner and if anything i wanna look paler? but im bored with my black hair. Will very dark ash blonde make me look lighter or darker?What do you guys think?THANKS IN ADVANCE
Does light hair on dark skin look good?
Yes it can. I recommend not going from light to dark with any at home dye kits. Go to a professional. Going from dark to light requires "lifting" or removing some of your natural color and it can go disastrously wrong and damage your hair. Professionals know how to pair light shades in the right tone with your skin coloring and create something very flattering. I've got the darkest black hair naturally and I've gone extremely light, to strawberry blonde with golden highlights. Strawberry blonde is many many shades lighter than my natural color, but I added golden highlights to the top surface only so my hair would look lighter without lightening all of it.
If i dye my hair darker or lighter which will look more oily?
Adding pigment to the hair shaft usually makes it look fuller and richer, whereas removing pigment tends to dry out the hair shaft; though this is NOT always the case (especially with quality dyes). Keep in mind that lightening your hair requires a lot more care (and more frequent touch ups). I would recommend trying a clarifying shampoo, and making sure to only condition the ends of your hair to help with the oily factor... if this still doesn't work try using baby powder (I use it to dry my hair when it's oily). From there, dye it which ever color you like best, hope this helps!
Why does my hair sometimes look darker than it is?
People do not all see colours the same... If your hair is not washed a day or 2 the natural oils may make it look darker. Also when you look at your own hair its usually in a mirror with a lit room , and I guess either your friends are taking the piss and saying it just to annoy you or may be your asking them in dark rooms :P
