Does My Voice Sound Bad

Why does my voice sound so bad recorded?

Who told you your voice sounds bad in a recording? Or… is this how you feel after hearing your voice the way others do?Two things:As has been explained, no one else is capable of hearing you the way you do. You, however, can hear what we hear when you listen to a recording.Learn this very quickly: your feelings almost always lie to you. (This is really more of a philosophical matter.) We are, almost all of us, given to dislike the actual sound we emit. But how you feel is simply how you feel. It is not a truth coded in your DNA (and, hence, how you actually sound) or anything. You almost certainly have a different opinion about your voice than anyone else. So find someone who has no reason to lie to you (unlike your feelings, which will tell you anything to protect you from some imagined future embarrassment) and listen to them.

Why does my voice sound SO BAD recorded?

First time I recorded myself singing. I KNOW I can sing some of my favorite songs really good. I'm great in the low range, and good in the mid range of my voice. Upper range I have to be angry, but do it well when I am.

I know my speaking voice is fine. But recorded, it sounds like I'm still......... 15 or 16 (best way to describe it). I'm in early 20's, but this is just weird. It was a quieter Industrial song, but how can I make my voice sound 'older' or 'angrier'?

Why does my voice sound bad when I wake up?

Drink some water to hydrate your throat. sing songs to get your voice to normal.

Why does my singing voice sound bad to me?

I love to sing. My parents and friends say I have a wonderful singing voice, but whenever I record myself singing and hear the playback, why does it sound so terrible to me? I can hit all the notes, but it still sounds bad. But when other people hear it, they say it's beautiful. So why does it sound bad just to me?

Why does my voice sound different on video?

You are hearing what your voice actually sounds like to other people. This is typically somewhat different from the way it sounds to you. This is because you hear the sound resonating through your head bones and sinuses, and other people do not hear that. That's why it's very important to listen to recordings of yourself when practicing a speech. You don't know what you sound like. When you do, you can alter your tone and develop a better speaking voice. Also useful for singers.

Does a bad microphone make a good voice sound bad?

Sure! you can have a crappy recording from a mic.

However, we ALL think we sound better than we really do! When you start really recording yourself, even with good equipment, you'll see that it's not as easy as it looks to sing a song perfect. That's why the music biz records parts over and over and over, even with singers who are probably better than you and I can't sing songs perfect in 1 take everytime.

It sounds like you are using like a $5 mic though, if it's that cheap, don't disrespect your voice by singing in it. Get a better one, or see if you can use somebody elses to record from if you just want to record a couple things. I have a shure57 and it's a pretty good all purpose mic. Check out guitar center website. Good luck!

Why does my voice sound bad when i record it on my phone?

Your phone's microphone is of sh*t quality compared to the ones used for recording songs or singing concerts. A bad microphone can make Beyonce sound like a squealing cat and a good microphone can even make me sound good.
Just listen to the difference when you're listening to a radio presenter and then hear them talk in real life for example. The quality of the microphone makes a difference of day and night. Mobile phones' microphone is designed for conversations and they do well at that, nothing more, nothing less. Cheap quality produces cheap quality.

Why does my voice sound so bad recorded on my phone?

Like when I record myself singing I sound like I have strep throat or something... but when I sing in person to people I m told I have a really good voice. And this is taken from my choir teacher who told me I have a talent too. But every time I try to record it on the phone my voice sounds deep, and not pleasant at all. It sounds nothing like my actual voice and destroys my confidence. If i record myself speaking i sound like a dude. But my question... why does my voice sound so terrible recorded? Anyone else experiencing the same thing or has anyone else experienced the same thing?

My voice sounds very bad when I sing, how can I make it better?

I will talk practically first, then come at the question from a different angle.Practically first. If you feel that your voice could improve, then you need to do exercises to improve the voice. Everyone can make their singing voice better. What you need to develop is the support system around your voice. Singing comes from your core and the more control you have of that, the more control you have over your voice. This can then influence the texture, tone and power of your voice. Your singing will feel more enjoyable because you will be able to do more. Vocal exercises do not take long to do and if you look on google you will find some there. They key is consistency. The more you practice the exercises, the better your voice will be.Alan Watts the english philosopher says that the only reason that someone should do anything is because they enjoy doing it. Now wanting to improve is fine, but doing it on the back of a judgement about yourself ‘I am bad, i must improve’ is not the best place to come from. You should (and I hope you do) come from a place of enjoyment with your singing regardless of whether you believe your voice is good or bad.I went through a period of judging my voice all the time and it sucked all the joy out of singing for me. It became something to measure rather than something to do for the fun of it. If you are reading this thinking that you are not enjoying your singing, then that is where you need to get to first. Let go of all the judgements of how a singing voice should sound and just be yourself. That freedom alone will improve the quality of your singing as well. All the best singers that go down as the greats were unique. Some of them weren’t technically the best, but they were expressing themselves so authentically, that people responded powerfully to it. Be yourself, enjoy the process, and find some vocal exercises to help improve your control range and power.Hope this helps

Why does my recorded voice always sounds so BAD?

Ugh, I hate my voice so much. Whenever I talk I sound perfectly fine, in my opinion. But when I record my voice for anything, not even singing- like if I record a voice memo or something, and I play it back I sound AWFUL! My voice is far too deep and it sounds like I have a stuffed up nose. My voice is nasally and just horrible. I've researching the internet and it supposedly says that this is my REAL voice!!! If this was my actual voice and I was someone else I would hate myself. What can I do to make my voice sound better, and does this happen to you? I just really hate my voice when it's recorded and hope that it's not what it really sounds like.
