What in politics today makes you so angry?
I seldom get angry about things but once in awhile I do. Here is a list of what bothers me in American politics….Right wing lies, twisting of the facts and propagandaIgnorance of right wing, conservative and republican votersThe willful ignorance of normally intelligent AmericansGreedy, cynical, manipulative people who use their money to control politicians, our political processes and bureaucracies.Evangelical Christians and Dominionists who are attempting to transform our country into a theocracy.Some of these apply to the politics in other countries as well but I understand American politics more fully because I am an American and keep up with the news there.
Why do politicians make me so angry?
One answer may be because politicians have to compromise. A way to garner support for themselves & their projects is by doing a favor in return. It's sad to see passionate people get elected only to become so ‘political’ in order to survive their position and gain reelection.

Why do American politics make people so angry nowadays?
Recently? Well, the pattern I’ve been observing is the Democrats developing a new tool to “get” the Republicans, then the Republicans take that tool, employ it and get slammed for doing so. The Reagan/Bush administration was the most investigated administration ever. So Clinton got the Starr investigation. Obama was great at division politics, Trump is playing the same game. Democrats politicized supreme court nominations with Bork, Clinton’s nominations got similar treatment. Democrats overturn the filibuster when Obama’s picks are getting Borked, then see that come back to bite them.Democrats decry every opponent as an awful person: Republicans say “Try Trump on for size”.So while I agree that partisan divisions are building, on the longer view, things are not so bad. The Nixon era marked a low point far further down than today (though it’s being grasped at). Earlier still in our nations history we used to have fist fights on the floors of congress.There was also that unpleasantness in the 1860’s…So, I think it’s a pendulum. It’s no coincidence that the downward trend today is happening some two generations after the latest downwards trend: just long enough for people to have forgotten all that was bad about cut-throat politics the last time around. It will build, get bad, then people will say ‘hell with this’ and the pendulum will swing the other way.
