Does Sleeping Heal People Why Do Sick People Sleep

Why does being sick make you sleep longer?

Your body is trying to fight off something that isn't supposed to be there, and can't devote any time to keeping you alert and awake. That's also why most people don't really feel like eating when they're sick, because when you eat, your body has to take time to digest the food.

Best way to treat a cold/flu is to sleep! :)

Can you sleep too much when you're sick?

No. The fewer tasks the body has while healing itself, the better.

Why would petting a cat make a person sleepy?

The reason you feel drowsy after kitty cuddling may indeed be oxytocin. But it's not coming from your cat's fur. Your brain naturally produces oxytocin at times when you're close to someone -- or something -- that you trust and love.

Oxytocin is very calming; it's the anti-stress hormone. It's a key hormone in the parasympathetic nervous system, the system that promotes relaxation, rest and healing.

Although that oxytocin is produced inside you, it's very likely that your cat is producing her own when you stroke her. One experiment tested the levels of oxytocin in the blood of humans and dogs after they interacted. Both of them showed increased oxytocin, a sign that the dog enjoyed being petted as much as his person enjoyed petting him.

So, relax and enjoy! It's good for you both.

Is it unhealthy to sleep for over 12 hours?

Downright dangerous to spend that many hours in bed.  4 hours is ample for many people and 8 hours is a modern addition. Back a few hundred years or so sleeping was split into segments and wakeful hours were occupied by activity. Back even further and sleep was dreaded because it caused people to die more quickly from plagues and they found sitting up rather than laying down to be far safer.                Published on 25 Oct 2014                                   The Science of Sleep Radio Interview on Peoples Internet RadioGRAVITY  Heals Sleeping Flat makes us sick according to Andrew K Fletcher, who  has spent 20 years researching the History of sleep to find answers to  why we sleep on flat beds today. His exciting sleep posture discovery  has helped countless people to regain their health against impossible  odds simply by raising the head end of their bed by around 6 inches or  15cm, causing the entire bed to slope down from head to toe at an angle  of approximately 5 degrees to the horizontal.#Ebola #aids, #hivAndrew  talks about how IBT has helped to boost the immune system and how  astronauts in space, removed from gravity experience a disrupted immune  system, he further explains how NASA and other space programs re-create  the serious damaging effects of being in space, here on Earth, simply by  paying people to sleep head down and horizontal for sometimes months on  end. NASA have shown that space travel accelerates the ageing process  to a staggering 10 x faster than here on Earth and if that is not enough  to worry us, he explains that they have also shown the same  degenerative affects can be reproduced simply by preventing us from  standing up and keeping us in bed.Andrew explains how tall trees  circulate sap using the density changes that take place at the leaf as a  result of transpiration (Evaporated water) which makes far more sense  than what we are teaching students in school.Clive De Carle: Ancient PurityEbola,  #Ebola, Sleep, sleeping, bed rest, Inclined Bed Therapy, IBT, Sloping  bed, gerd, acid reflux, virus, aids, hiv, flu, epidemic, pandemic,  infections, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, SIDS, Gastroesophageal reflux  disease, Cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, ms, frequent urination,  night time urination, nocturia, bed wetting, IVF, In vitro  fertilization, erectile dysfunction, Clive De Carle, Interview, Radio  Interview, Alternative health, Complimentary, sports injury, oedema,  edema, varicose veins,

Is sleeping on the floor beneficial?

Advantages of Sleeping on the Floor1. The main advantage is the health benefit. Improved blood  circulation, corrected posture, prevention of back and neck pain, and  reduction in risk of scoliosis are all researched pluses to sleeping on  the floor. 2. You won’t have trouble getting out of bed in the morning. Waking  up on time improves productivity. Personally, this will be helpful when  waking up for my 100 hour a week job.3. It is somehow purifying. Waking up on the floor reminds me of Steve Jobs’ famous quote, “Stay hungry, stay foolish.”Disadvantages of Sleeping on the Floor1. Depending on the scenario, chick’s don’t dig it. On one hand, if  you considerately offer her the bed after a night of extreme inebriation  or in the name of chivalry, she may be enamored with you. However, if  you don’t own a bed or ask her to join you, forget about “sleeping with  her”. The same most likely can not be said if the gender roles were  flipped.2. Apart from being generally uncomfortable, it can get cold in the winter.3. You learn a lot about bugs. Even though most of them are harmless, that’s disgusting and sometimes frightening.Advantages and Disadvantages of Sleeping on the FloorIs sleeping on the floor good for your back? - Doctor Answers on HealthTapThere doesn't seem to be alot of research about sleeping on the floor but the general consensus seems to be that for some people it is indeed beneficial in curing back pain and for some it is damaging/uncomfortable.

Why do we have to sleep?

Your body would completely shut down. Your spine would grow very weak from always moving. Your body needs sleep more than you think.

Rats deprived of sleep die within 2-3 weeks. It's not fully known why, but sleep is vital to anything's survival.

Muscles heal while you sleep. Especially if you are trying to build muscle, sleep is vital to muscle building. When you lift weights, the reason it hurts is because you create tiny tears. These tears fill and build more muscle while you sleep. If you kept moving, the tears would never be able to heal and they would deteriorate.

Sleeping at 9 O'Clock too late for you?

It's too early!
