Do you think that we, as a society, are too quick to label children as having ADHD?
The testing for ADHD is extensive and done by professionals. I think a lot of kids are getting labeled by the school systems without that complete testing.
Why does society praise celebrities instead of docctors or scientist?
celebrities have really not done too much for humanity, but doctors save lives and make tremendous impact on humanity, so do teachers, scientist, anthropologist why doesnt the media give us more on them, rather than sport people or untalented people, movie stars, why not soldiers, fire men, religious leaders, why is society so lame,and then they wonder why our society is so jacked up
Why do doctors have such high consultation fees in India?
I have full sympathy for you sir.but now even a plumber charges more--these are highly qualified professionals.they are human beings with the highest level of intellect and with basic needs and their life is very hard--if they are dedicated--early morning rounds--rushing to hospital at odd hours to save a life--no sundays--no holidays--all patient days ..even after putting in 20 years post degree:)but of course there are very money minded doctors too who bring disgrace to the profession.but yes i would appreciate if the doctor waives off from people who cant afford.people here blow up 10000 Rs on dinner in a 5 star hotel , have the most expensive cell phones, will gift their wife/girlfriend diamonds on valentine day--but when it comes to paying doctors they prefer it complimentary and then say this is high--thats not rightbut malpractise doctors need to be shown their place..just hate them.go to the USA and you realise our doctors charge so less--when in USA i was asked to cough up 500 USD just for nebulisation (for a colleague) in a medical center in US on the east coast. I dint--managed the salmeterol solution and gave it myself.In fact my doctor friend in US , working in a hospital there, told me that once she retires she would prefer to come back to India as she cant afford the cost of medical treatment in US.I was shocked for in India we just give it like run of the mill to anyone with severe asthma.We save lives--do not banter for money.i was scared of the medical set up in USA and realised one has to be heavily insured to survive there.And the premiums are so high that one has to earn well to afford it -even after retirement.yes but i hate malpractise doctors--they need to be punished severely.Medicine is a divine science--it is said "its God who heals and doctor takes the fees" Please respect this :)
Why do people think doctors kids are snobby brats?
thats what i and my brother are like....but now i am 27 yrs old and a doc too but not specialist yet and i think what i did in my whole life was what i really like and want ...and i dont care ab those people whom never try to know who i am ...i ve my own friends and dont even look at those who wont understand all people are unique and has their special personality ...i dunno how old are u ?but just live ur life and choose ur friends and dont care ab others....
Why doctors are respected?
People respect humans,a doctor is a human we possess nothing more then people do.There are many doctors that are blinded by fame and money that they don’t do their job and forget their promise.Lots of people respect true doctors by their work,by their caring empathic character and by their help that they provide to people.Basically with one word by our actions not our title or words.No matter if you are a doctor or a millionaire if you lack humanity you are no one,you won’t need any of your money or fame.I finished my school for 1 reason to help people not to get famous and i keep’t myself always humble.It’s normal to be seen a little higher by the people from the status that we possess because you educated yourself for around 10+ years our half lifetime went to school. So it’s really normal that we will have special treatments from people because of our education i mean you can’t talk with an uneducated individual the things that you are talking with us because they won’t understand you.But what makes a true doctor really special is the strong character that he possesses and the mentality to always help people,because he went through all the hardship in life and he is there for a reason,to inspire,motivate and help people.Real Soldiers and Doctors are real life super heroes they save lives. Is there a better feeling in the world then to see someone happy or to know that you saved their life,no money no fame can buy you that,that my friend is humanity when you possess a golden heart and you love your job and you do your best to always be loyal to your job.‘’Coins always make sounds...but paper moneys are always silentso, when your value increases,keep yourself silent and humble’’
What do you think of the statement, “doctors aren't healers”?
If you see healing as the body fighting off the disease by itself, indeed docs don’t. Healing to me is more associated with non scientific alternative mumbo-jumbo than medical science.We start by looking if there is any underlying condition to explain a patient’s symptoms, you know that in western countries about 30% of the consultations a GP does are about Medically Unexplained Symptoms most of whom will cure themselves in the following period. If the diagnosis is known, we can discuss outlook and possible treatments, helping patients over an acute problem such as a pneumonia, many conditions are chronic, like diabetes, hypertension, which if managed well can help the patient live a healthy life free of conplications, for which patient involvement is sorely needed. So we very often help patients to manage their disease as well as possible, occassionally cure an acute condition by administering treatment, often lesser problems will resolve by themselves given time.
Why do people tend to respect doctors only?
As rightly said by Sachin Ramesh, supply and demand. Doctors are few in numbers, not only this, all doctors in India are recognized by one body, Medical Council of India (MCI). Moreover, doctors relieve pain of people, they provide "new life" to dying patients, and people feel happy for that. No doubt engineers are also respected, who graduate from top universities. Engineer's works are also appreciated. In this developing India, engineers have great role to play. All the fly-overs, roads, buildings, malls, offices, not only these structures but also they are earthquake-proof, wind-proof. All these would never have been possible if there would have been no engineers. Moreover, people in India are not that literate and they don't have that much knowledge about Engineering and Medicine too. People are not concerned with all the architectures which are being built, but with there own health. there health brings them to doctors, but no one goes too engineer for anythign except for when there vehicle is broken. In short, all doctors are in direct contact with people, but all engineers are not. People believe and respect what provide them pleasure !!!
