Does The Dmv Use The Picture On Your Instruction Permit For The Driver

Do you have to take a picture for your permit (written test) or is it only when you taking the driving test?

hi ! this is for the California DMV
and i am wondering if you have to take a picture for your permit (written test), or do you only take a picture for when you take the actual driving test ?

and if you do take a picture for the permit, is it the same picture that goes on your driver's license ?

Anyone else have an ugly Drivers license picture ?

Mine is beyond "Ugly" and right into "Mug-shot" !!

I had my wallet destroyed late last Winter (tragic snow-blower accident)... so the next day I went to the DMV - figured they'd use the old picture since everything is digital right ??

NO... they decide to take a NEW picture !! Here I am, 8:30am (only 2nd cup of coffee), it's been a 3 day blizzard so I've been outside working for almost 72 hours... I'm windblown so my face is crimson red (where it's not pale with near-frostbite)... my beard and hair are MAX scraggly... and I have serious bags under my eyes from the lack of sleep.

SERIOUSLY... it looks like a mug-shot photo from the jail !!

Can I get a license plate for my car without a driver's license or permit?

Question: Can I get a license plate for an automobile without having a drivers license?Certainly. If you purchase a vehicle from a dealership, they will give you temporary tags and then order permanent tags for you from the state. These can be mailed to you (or you can stop by and pick them up) after your registration has been processed by the state. This take 10 days to 2 weeks on average. If you purchase a vehicle in a private sale, you can go to the state DMV/BMV offices and obtain your registration and license tags there. You fill out some paperwork, give them the old title and pay a series of fees for taxes, registration and miscellaneous other items. They will either give you the license tags that day or you will be given temporary tags there also and have the new ones mailed to you. The mailing option will again take (on average) 10 days to 2 weeks.NOTE; If you don’t have a drivers license, it would be very unwise to drive the vehicle to the DMV/BMV branch. In some states, a clerk would need to check your vehicle’s VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) and they will ask how you arrived in the vehicle if you are not licensed to drive. They can and will contact the police anythings will get less pleasant from there. Finally, in some states (Illinois being one) private agencies are allowed to undertake some DMV functions, including vehicle registration. They are often far less crowded and more convenient than DMV locations; however they often charge as much as a 25% surcharge for that convenience.Depending upon the location, they will either give you temp tags and request that you return for the permanent tags. Or they can provide with new permanent tags ,s o long s they are “basic” and not personalized, or specialty plates.

Will TSA permit airport entry with a temporary drivers license?

Here is what the TSA officially says on it’s website is an acceptable ID:Driver's licenses or other state photo identity cards issued by Department of Motor Vehicles (or equivalent)It goes on to add:In the event you arrive at the airport without valid identification, because it is lost or at home, you may still be allowed to fly. The TSA officer may ask you to complete a form to include your name and current address, and may ask additional questions to confirm your identity. If your identity is confirmed, you will be allowed to enter the screening checkpoint. You may be subject to additional screening. So, based on this, a temporary driver’s licence, as long as officially issued by a government agency, with a photo included, should be acceptable. (Edit: see update below).Edit: The TSA has updated acceptable ID requirements as follows:Beginning Oct. 1, 2020, if you plan to use your state-issued ID or license to fly within the U.S., make sure it is REAL ID compliant. If you are not sure if your ID complies with REAL ID, check with your state department of motor vehicles. For information on REAL ID, please visit DHS frequently asked questions.Additionally, note the following two points:A weapon permit is not an acceptable form of identification.A temporary driver's license is not an acceptable form of identification.

Can I still use my expired driver's licence at airport security?

If you have a non-expired license, even if it is a paper document, that's a good backup.  However, I had a very similar problem recently. In the State of Washington, when your license expires, you head down to the DMV and get a new photo taken.  They give you a paper license, punch a hole in your old one, and give you both back.  In about 10 days, the new one comes in the mail. I had to travel in the interim. So when I went up to security at the airport, I had both the paper license and the old one... the one with the hole punched in it and an expired date.  The TSA agent told me to put the paper one away.  So I did.  He looked at the expired one and used it without further comment. The NEXT FOUR FLIGHTS, I used the expired license, with a hole punched in it.  Every single TSA agent, at three airports, took the expired license without batting an eye.  I had the paper one in my wallet just in case.  No one asked. My new one arrived in the mail and I'm using a new license now. This happened between February 23rd 2015 and March 12th 2015.  The airports were SEA (Seattle Tacoma International), LAS (Las Vegas McCarran International), and LAX (Los Angeles International) Use your expired ID.  If they ask, tell them you've applied for the new one and it hasn't come to your house yet.

Process of getting your drivers license at 18 in Texas?

I recently turned 18, and I think it's about time to obtain a drivers license but I am confused as to how because I don't really have any guidance. Any information would really help. I heard you must obtain a adult learners permit regardless, but for how long do you have it before getting your official drivers license? I know that drivers education is required because of my age, but what does it provide? Where do I take my written, road, and vision test? Thank you in advance.
