Does The United States Have The Most Pathetic Healthcare System Of The Civilized World

What sets America apart from the rest of the world? Where does our greatness come from?

your greatness come from your stupidity...

In what ways is the United States of America better than Canada?

Sure, the US has a few advantages over Canada. The US has far better (physical) mail service than Canada ever has or will have. Canada somehow just manages to have slow, unreliable mail within its own borders. If you want to send something into or out of Canada, don't even bother using the mail - your chances of prompt delivery are slim, and your chances of outright loss are pretty high.Canada also has the slowest, most expensive broadband in the civilized world. That's what you get for having a near-complete monopoly on ISPs, which wasn't true in the late 90s but was by about 2001.Edited to add: Canada also has ridiculously expensive airfares. Again, monopoly situation. To fly coast to coast in Canada, it is generally much cheaper to go through New Jersey and Seattle than it is to take a direct Air Canada flight within Canada. In general, Canada's Antitrust laws are toothless or nonexistent, and it is common to see monopolies strangle one aspect or another of life there.Other than that, though, sorry. You're right, Canada's just a better place to live.

Universal Healthcare what do you guys think?

I just read on CNN (Uh) that reforming the health care system hear in the U.S will be a hard and long task. Republicans are oppose to the reform saying it would destroy the private system. In my opinion i hope it destroys the private system because its corrupt and all they want is money but what are your thoughts ?

Why does Australia try and copy America?

Its really strange how Australians try so hard to be Americans. Im from England and we have our own culture, and we think America is developing its own culture, but now Australia is trying to copy it and to be honest it just looks really pathetic, Australia has no way near the money USA or UK has, they are a completely different country, so why cant they be their own country without copying?

Why are Midwestern cities so poor and boring?

I am a German visiting the US I have visited a lot of cities so far and have noticed that most cities in the midwest (with the exception of Chicago) are very boring with poorer infrastructure as compared to cities on the east coast and west coast. NY, Boston, DC were amazing cities with sooo much to do. and on the west coast San Francisco and LA were amazing. But as I said cities in the midwest that i visited Indianapolis, Detroit, Columbus, Minneapolis, St. Louis , Kansas City, Houston all those cities changed my view of America i had a vision that US had great infrastructure.

Can somebody explain to me why cities in the Midwest are poorer?

Do you think that adoption is an alternative to abortion?

I think that is a pathetic alternative, personally. There are so many children who are put up for adoption and never get adopted. What about those children? They get shuffled around from foster parent to foster parent. There are high rates of abuse and neglect in foster care (1 in 5 children). I don't think anyone will disagree with me when I say that our foster care system is seriously messed up. As a child ages, they are less likely to be adopted. For most states, foster care kids age out at 18. They are basically thrown out into the real world to fend for themselves. If they didn't have a good relationship with a foster parent or mentor, they will most likely become homeless.

Adoption as an alternative to abortion, is just a sad attempt to solve a complicated problem. They are basically saying, we don't agree with abortion so let's just throw these kids into an adoption. It doesn't really solve the problem at hand. In fact, you could even argue that it causes more problems than abortion. Children in foster care who age out contribute greatly to the homeless and prison population. Those children who don't get adopted, in most cases, don't have a support system to fall back on.

Doesn't a child deserve a loving family or parent? Does a child deserve to be shuffled around from home to home? Does a child deserve to be abused at the hands of corrupt gov't agencies?

Don't get me wrong though. Adoption is a wonderful thing for children who get adopted but you can't forget about those kids who don't get adopted. What about them? They get the short end of the stick in life. Let's be realistic here. There's not enough willing and able people in the world to adopt every child in need of a good home. Those kids are screwed.

So I guess I want to know why people think adoption is a good alternative to abortion.

Here is a sad example of the things that happen to innocent children in the hands of people who "love" them:
