Your dad is (1/4) Italian, so that means he gave you (1/8) (since he gave you half of his genes). Your mom is (1/2) Italian, so that means she gave you (1/4) (since she gave you half of her genes). So (1/8) + (1/4) = (3/8) You are three-eighths Italian.

The more important question is how do you know your 2nd great grandparents are 100% something??? To say someone is "something" means you have to arbitrarily stop at some generation and assume that the person you stopped at is 100% whatever it is you determine (not very likely). So let's say you are part Italian because one of your 2nd great grandparents was born in Italy. But tomorrow, you discover that this 2nd great grandparent's father (or grandfather) came from England and his mother (or grandmother) came from Belgium?? Does that mean that today you are part Italian but tomorrow you aren't - but now part English and part Belgian?? Go back another generation... I'm assuming what you are is American because this "I'm part something" need is almost exclusively an American invention...probably because America is viewed as such a young country and so nobody could actually be "American". We must be something else....even though we know our family lived in America sometimes 100 years longer than we know of ancestors that lived elsewhere. But that 100 years of America doesn't count. However, that 40 years of Italy we know about makes us part Italian.

It depends.I would say that bantu people in general have dominant genes but not more dominant than asian genes. Asian eyes can go through several generations, their hair, nose is also dominant just like the africans.The horn of africans however have the most recessive genes in the whole world. More recessive than white people I would say. Yes, we have features that look black but apparently they’re recessive. My mother told me once that a villager in Eritrea got a blue eyed and blonde child and everyone looked at him as if it was a demon. no ethnicity is more dominant or recessive however, dark genes are more dominant irish, english and germans are usually light while italians are darker but if its a light italian person and a dark english person the italian gene is recessive

Why do some older Italian men's voices get high and raspy?
I think it has to do with age in general, not their ethnicity. Sometimes when a person ages their voice can get higher and raspier than it was when they were younger. I'm sure it happens naturally to some Italians, but not all. If you see it often in just Italian gangster movies and they give every old gangster a high pitched raspy voice, it's solely for stereotypical purposes. Not all old people (and especially not all older Italian gangsters) would have that effect on their voices.
