Does This Mean My Cat Is Comfortable Around My Dog

Why does my cat groom herself on top of me?

Because you are, comfortable, warm, safe and she loves you. You should feel honored and respected. Would you bathe and groom yourself if you didn’T feel safe and secure. You can stop this behavior but are you sure you want to? I can hardly get through my day without 2 or 3 cats demanding something. After many years I have taught them MY schedule. If you want to be petted, you can only get in my lap if I’m already sitting down. If you want to be fed there is a protocol for that, NO exceptions! Well …….. maybe a couple times a month doesn’T hurt, much. If you want to groom yourself using my body as a support system, it MUST be before I’ve had my own bathing and grooming session. And only one at a time. If you get here too late you will wind up down at the feet. That will be the only place left.Once you get all these rules and regulations in place, there shouldn’T be any problems. If you slip up and forget one now and then, apologize profusely, promise that it will never happen again , buy them all a new cat toy and life goes on.

If your cat falls asleep on you, does that mean it trusts you? is it a compliment from them to you?

For the most part if a cat follows you and is always loving up to you then, yes it does trust you. By a cat falling asleep on you its a sign that the cat is comfortable and its also a sign that the cat is able to trust you not to hurt him/her while they sleep. It also shows that they want to bond with you and get to know you more then what they already do. And your body keeps the cat warm.

Everyday when I come home my cat rolls around on the floor and stretches showing her belly. Why does she do it

I kind of figured it meant she was happy to see me. I just didn't know why they chose this method instead of jumping up on you, like a dog would do. Thanks for all the great answers. And "Awesome", grow up and learn how to spell!!

Why does a dog rub against you?

Affection. Dogs are tactile. ‘Good boy’ only goes so far. Physical contact is important to many social breeds. This is why some breeds are called ‘aloof’. They avoid a lot of physical contact even though they may be very affectionate dogs.Body contact is about comfort. Cuddling, laying on each other, its is safety, security, affection, calming, relaxing. It is about getting closer to your scent and sharing theirs. It is the reason that my dogs don’t just lay on the bed but they lay on me and slide down (also stealing the blankets in the process).Touch is important to them.

What does it mean when your cat likes your boyfriend?

i think it means you've got a good boyfriend! hang on!!

My dog tore open my cat, what do I do?

Obviously you didn’t respond right as it happened like you said. You made it sound like you got there after the dog big your cat’s stomach just once. Cat wouldn’t be dead instantly so fast. Sounds like dog shook the **** out of your cat and THAT IS WHY you saw intestines. I feel really bad this happened to your cat. You said dog was livid? You said they fight all the time? I know animals pretty well. Sounds like your dog had finally had it. Cat was getting too comfortable with swatting your dog. By any chance did this happen near your dog’s food bowl or play toys? (Or around any food at all?)
Do not listen to anyone if they say to punish dog. Do not allow your dog around any small animals. If food WAS in same area , I recommend that if you have other animals to feed them separately and take food bowl up AS SOON AS THEY ARE DONE EATING. Have routine feeding time. Leave water out , but food bowls will be only at specific times. I’m very sorry about what happened. Don’t punish dog.

Cat and dog behavior?

Oh, I believe we humans call this "affection"! Isn't it just sweet!
My dogs and cats are also best of friends, and my one dog, being a pincher, is also quite careful of those claws! Yet they could curl up and dose, cuddle each other and yes, do the licking-thing.
Animals are a lot more intense than we would like to believe, and I truly admire this type of behaviour.
Just enjoy the scenes - it's better and truer than Hollywood romance! And I'm glad for you to not have cat/dog fights! ;-)
