Does This Sound Argumentative

What should I do with my over argumentative friend?

I have a friend who loves to argue.. But as of recent this habit has gotten worse and worse. He always needs to come out on top of an argument as the victor, no matter how stupid the topic is. We got into an arguement over who created a joke. Finally, after almost an hour of pointless argueing we agreed that noone made the joke, just to put a stop to it. Then, almost a year later, he brings up the arguement again saying he takes abck everything he said because he "knows he's right."

Then, just a few days ago we got into another arguement. Me and some of my friends had gone to the launch of Super Smash Bros Brawl, and we were argueing over what order we got it. My friend Edwin suggests we drop the whole arguement. My friend went berserk.

He went into a cursing fit, saying how he always tried to end arguements with "******* stupid solutions." He yelled at him for a good three minutes before leaving him be. What should I do to stop this from happening again?

In an argumentative essay can you use "I" or "In my opinion"?

Use third person throughout your paper.

Using first person makes it sound selfish and like you are the only person with the opinion, and using second person makes it sound too demanding.

If you want to use a first person narrative to argue your position, search for someone who already has been through what you have gone through and think what you think. That makes your overall argument stronger since you can prove that you are not alone in your position.

Philosophy: argumentative validity and soundness?

Unit 3.1: Validity and soundness

Question 1: Explain why any argument with the conclusion “1 + 1 = 2” — no matter what the rest of the argument looks like — must be valid.

Question 2: Explain why any argument containing the premise “1 + 1 = 3” — no matter what the rest of argument looks like — must be valid.

Question 3: Consider the following argument:

St. Louis is a city in Missouri.

Hence, St. Louis is a city in Missouri.

This argument is both valid and sound. That said, it’s not a very good argument — in fact, it’s pretty terrible. What’s wrong with it?

Is this essay informative or argumentative?

It has aspects of both, the last two paragraphs are argumentative however.

How do you usually handle an argumentative person?

For a long time, I used to try to argue with them. When I grew up, I realized that you're arguing with someone that already has their mind made up about the issue and until they're ready to listen, nothing will be settled. Lately, if I see that, that conversation is going that direction, I put my hand up, as if to say "stop" and then proceed to walk away. Don't waste your energy on them!
