Does This Sound Weird To You

Does my husband sound weird?

If he's not comfortable with it then don't push it. You've done without it this long, and to be honest, you're not missing anything. Some of it is decent, but some is downright nasty!!!

Why does a word sound weird if I say it too many times?

Why does a word sound weird if I say it too many times?Semantic satiation (also semantic saturation) is a psychological phenomenon in which repetition causes a word or phrase to temporarily lose meaning for the listener, who then perceives the speech as repeated meaningless sounds.[1]Basically what happens is that you “flex” that particular part of the brain “muscle” until it gets too tired to do its job of recognizing that work.Footnotes[1] Semantic satiation - Wikipedia

Why Do I Sound Weird With Braces On?

It's early days yet. It will take a little time for your lips and tongue to get used to the fact that, with new stuff in your mouth, they have to take up slightly different positions to make the same sounds. This will happen automatically so don't worry about it.

As for the sore mouth, this should also settle in a few days. If it doesn't, contact your orthodontist to get the braces adjusted.

You'll be fine soon.

Why does your voice sound weird when you have a cold?

Because everything is stuffed up and the ears are not receiving the same acoustics as when the nasal passages are clear. But that doesn’t mean the audience is hearing something weird. If you have good technique you will be singing through the mouth not the nose. Even if your nose is completely stuffed up you still sound good to them. Sometimes even more so because you have to depend on your technique more. It doesn’t hurt to sing when you have a cold. If the stuffiness moves to the lungs and makes you cough a lot though, that is what damages the vocals cords.

Does it sound weird to you when you say your own name?

It is for me. I can't say the name 'Taylor' without it coming out some weird type of way. :/

I cannot say my own name with ease, unfortunately.

Why do i make a weird sound when i yawn?

Burping while yawning is completely normal.. when you yawn, your diaphragm relaxes completely so that the lungs expand to full capacity. This lung expansion puts pressure on the stomach, and if there is any air trapped in there, it is squeezed out by the yawning reflex into the esophagus and out the back of the throat.

Whether or not there is air present in the stomach is based on what you've eaten and drank.. if you drink soda or haven't eaten in quite awhile, it's probably more likely to occur.

I know this will sound weird, but how do YOU pee?

I never thought I'd ask this, but going to the bathroom today, I noticed out of the corner of my eye that someone at a urinal was wearing shorts and one leg was pulled all the way up. Like maybe he stuck his penis through the leg hole and was peeing. I usually wouldn't notice this, but it looked so weird. So I thought I would ask some anonymous people this question. All I do is unzip/unbutton, lower my briefs enough and pee... I thought everyone did that... guess I was wrong....

Why does changing the pitch of voice sound weird?

Popular methods for changing pitch often inherently add some distortion.A selection of digital audio comprises of consecutive frames. Each frame is a collection of various frequencies at various amplitudes.Pitch relates to frequency: Higher frequencies correspond to higher pitch. To increase pitch by an octave, we double the frequency. To do that, we often drop every other frame. Our overall audio just got shorter, so to restore the original duration, we repeat certain cycles of the audio. This distorts the sound a bit. We could mitigate the distortion by using a filter afterwards though to smoothen transitions between frames.Lowering pitch means lowering the frequency, so we often just duplicate certain frames and then delete certain cycles to restore the original (shorter) duration.Since we add or drop frames both ways, we add some distortion to the audio.Sometimes though, this distortion is intentional. In 1939, pitch-changing was popularized to produce the voice of Munchkins in the Wizard of Oz. Later, pitch-changing was used to great effect in the famous Christmas song Alvin and the Chipmunks.I’m not sure why human voice seems more distorted than instruments in your case, but this might be because voice harbors special formant frequencies that need to maintain certain relationships with each other to preserve a sense of resonance in the mouth. Or it could be because tremolo and vibrato sound unreal when they oscillate too quickly.

When you record your voice does it sound weird to you?

Absolutely; I've never gotten used to hearing my singing voice. My Father the music teacher says if you want to hear more what your voice sounds like to other people, especially if you're a singer, cup your hands to your ears with your knuckles facing forward/palms facing back.

My English name is Laughing. Is that silly? Does it sound weird?

It makes just about the same sense as Crying for a name. I'm sorry, but it's a totally insane name for anyone. You cannot just pick a random English word and use it as a name. You want a Western name, then follow Western rules of naming.Rules of Western naming:1. Westerners generally don't have unique names.*2. Pick a Western boy's/girl's name for the sound or meaning you like.**3. Think about the possible short forms and nicknames for it.4. If 2 and 3 are okay with you, use it. (See Advice.)5. If you want to be truly Westernised, pick also a middle name.6. Done!* Unless you have celebrity parents like rockstars, etc (and even then...).** Google for "name websites" or "boys/girls names."Advice: The Western name doesn't (and shouldn't) have to be 1 to 1 in meaning with your Chinese name.Your Western name (exactly like your Chinese name) is your 招牌 (zhāo-pái: signboard, shop sign) -- I think you know what I mean now.
