Does Touching Your Private Parts During Ramadan Invalidate Your Fast

Does touching your private parts during Ramadan invalidate your fast?

Intentionally. I'm not talking about stimulating yourself or masturbation because I know they're haram but I'm talking about in general. Unintentionally is okay, right?

Wet dreams are okay and don't break your fast as well, right?

JazakAllah Khair. May you and your families have an amazing Ramadan and in sha Allah accomplish something this blessed month! Ramadan Mubarak.

Ramadan : does kajal invalidate wudoo?

Assalamu 'alaikum Dear Sister,

During wudhu (ritual ablution), water must touch the areas of the body which are necessary to be washed. The faraid (mandatory acts) of wudhu are to wash the face, arms, feet and make masah (pass wet hands) over the head as instructed in the following verse:

“O you who believe, when you rise for Salah, (prayer) wash your faces and your hands up to the elbows, and make Masah (wiping by hands) of your heads and (wash) your feet up to the ankles.” (Holy Quran 5:6)

During the washing of the face, it is important the outer areas of the eyes are also washed. Hence, if one has applied kohl (surma /antimony), then one should be thorough in washing, so that water reaches the areas in and around the eyes. Since this is the matter related to prayer and its requisites, all precautions should be undertaken.

Scholars of Islam have defined kohl (surma/ antimony) as a dust and generally it has the ability of being dissolved or liquefied when coming in contact with water. When washing, if one has used sufficient water, the kohl should not prevent it from reaching the skin.

It may also be worthy to note that in modern times, there are numerous cosmetic products applied by women as a substitute to kohl such as eye liners and make up. In such cases, if the beauty products are made of substances that prevent the water from touching the skin, it would be mandatory to remove them to ensure a valid wudhu (ritual ablution).

All the above rulings would apply even if one had initially performed ghusl (ritual bath) and or wudhu (ritual ablution) before applying the kohl and or makeup. For when one’s wudhu breaks, one must re-wash all necessary areas.

And Allah Knows Best

Is the whole Ramadan period null and void if I masturbate in the evening hours?

Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatu!Shaykh ibn al-’Uthaymeen had already discussed this matter and according to him, there is nothing upon you to do, nothing breaks the person’s fast until three conditions are met:1.The person must have knowledge [that this action nullifies fasting]2.The person has to perform [this nullifier] while remembering thathe/she is fasting3.The person has to perform [this nullifier] out of want [and was not forced]However, it is obligatory for the mankind to be patient in regards to masturbating because it is prohibited [haram] due to the statement of Allaah سبحانه و تعالى ,“And those who guard their chastity [private parts from illegal sexual acts]. Except from their wives or what their right hands possess, – for then, they are free from blame. But whoever seeks beyond that, then those are the transgressors.” (Surah al-Mu’minun: 5-7)Also, the Prophet, صلي الله عليه وسلم, said,ﻳَﺎ ﻣَﻌْﺸَﺮَ ﺍﻟﺸَّﺒَﺎﺏِ ﻋَﻠَﻴْﻜُﻢْ ﺑِﺎﻟْﺒَﺎﺀَﺓِ ﻓَﺈِﻧَّﻪُ ﺃَﻏَﺾُّﻟِﻠْﺒَﺼَﺮِ ﻭَﺃَﺣْﺼَﻦُ ﻟِﻠْﻔَﺮْﺝِ ﻓَﻤَﻦْ ﻟَﻢْ ﻳَﺴْﺘَﻄِﻊْ ﻣِﻨْﻜُﻢُﺍﻟْﺒَﺎﺀَﺓَ ﻓَﻌَﻠَﻴْﻪِ ﺑِﺎﻟﺼَّﻮْﻡِ ﻓَﺈِﻥَّ ﺍﻟﺼَّﻮْﻡَ ﻟَﻪُ ﻭِﺟَﺎﺀٌ“O young men! You should marry, for indeed it helps in lowering the gaze and protecting the private parts. Whoever among you is not able to marry, then let him fast, for indeed fasting will diminish his sexual desire.” (Bukhari, Muslim)If masturbating was permissible then the Prophet, صلي الله عليه وسلم, would have advised that because it is easier for the slave and pleasure is found in this action, as oppose to fasting where there is difficulty. But the Prophet, صلي الله عليه وسلم, commanded fasting, and this shows that masturbating is not permissible.

Is masturbation allowed in Ramadan? I just sat down and masturbated is my fast broken?

Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatu!(May the peace, mercy and blessings of God be with you!)Be it Ramadhan or the other months in the Islamic calendar, masturbating is clearly prohibited in Islam. It is obligatory for the mankind to be patient in regards to masturbating because it is prohibited [haraam] due to the statement of Allaah سبحانه و تعالى (Glory to Him, the Most High),And those who guard their chastity [private parts from illegal sexual acts]. Except from their wives or what their right hands possess, – for then, they are free from blame. Does touching the same sex break your wudhu?

Hugging a same sex friend doesn't break the fast.

Hugging oposite gender with thoughts of sex in mind will break the fast.

Is it haram to touch yourself AFTER you break your fast?

As a Muslim you should avoid porn all together, very demeaning to women and a big time waster

However after fasting when married couples may resume with intercourse so can single Muslims return to masturbation.

Masturbation is normal, porn not so much.

Note Obsessive Masturbation isn't normal either.
