Does Truth Always Offends

Is the truth always the "right" answer?

I highly doubt that a person could simply "choose to believe" something that they don't believe. That would be like trying to force yourself to fall in love with someone that you don't, or trying to convince yourself that a lie is the truth. Not only is it wrong, but it's also mentally unhealthy.

Does the truth come out when people are angry...?

I think a little bit of both.
For example, I was fighting with my sister the other day. I told her that she always hurts me, and it seems like she doesn't care - that was the truth. But then I told her that I hated her and didn't want her to be part of my life anymore - that was a lie.
So there's a pretty good mixture of both in there - both always hurt though.

BQ - When someone is about to announce the winner of a contest or an award, and they say "everyone really did deserve it, and we wish we could have gave one to everyone here", because I know it isn't true. And also, if there's someone who really didn't deserve the award, now they're going around thinking "Wow, I really did deserve it too.", when they really didn't.

Is it always essential to tell the truth, or are there circumstances in which it is better to lie?

a gentle lie is better than a painful truth.

i use lies to protect people...

i use the truth to destroy them...
