Does Ups Accept Packages Wrapped In Brown Paper

Does the USPS still accept box packages wrapped in brown paper?

Because parcels are sorted by machine, the wrapping of parcels in paper is discouraged. it is too easy for the wrapper to get separated from the package because no one is watching. Wrapping Priority Mail Flat Rate packages is PROHIBITED.

Can you mail a box wrapped in brown paper through the USPS?

I have to mail a gaming system to someone who bought it on Ebay. I don't want to buy a box for it since it is already in a box. I wrapped it in brown craft paper. I was wondering if this is ok to mail through the USPS? I dont' want to make a fool of myself when I go to the post office!

To ship a package via USPS, does it have to be wrapped in brown paper?

I'm mailing a package to my dad and brothers from my vacation trip (just little souvenirs to let them know I was thinking of them while I was there) and I've got them in a box ready to go. I wrapped the box in white paper and just as I'd finished my boyfriend says he thinks they have to be wrapped in brown paper. I've seen my mom wrap packages before and she always used brown paper but I thought that was just easier because she always had it around (we always used brown paper bags from the grocery store).

Does it have to be wrapped in brown paper to be shipped? Will they ship it in white paper?

P.S. I've looked all over the internet and can't find the answers. Even on the USPS website. And, I'm sorry if this is categorized wrong--I couldn't really find the right spot for it. Thanks in advance!

Can you send packages in gift-wrap through UPS?

Wrapping packages in paper is discouraged because it is too easy to get torn and then become separated from the box inside, losing the address.  Parcels are sorted by machines that drop them down chutes and then they ride stacked randomly in bouncing trailers.  Wrapping paper will not survive.

Can I wrap a flat-rate box in brown paper and ship it as priority?

No, a Flat Rate Box MUST have the correct amount of Flat Rate Postage attached. There are a couple of other Non Flat rate boxes available that are within an inch of the size of the FRB. Simply use one of those.

You would absolutley NOT want to send a package that has been wrapped to any International destination. It is never a good idea to wrap a package in the first place. If you go to the the store at usps.com, you will see all of the different sizes of boxes available to order, with free shipping to your door.

Do boxes shipped usps have to be wrapped in brown paper or in a brown box?

The color of the box is not important to any of the major parcel delivery companies (FedEx, UPS, USPS).

Use of brown (or any color) paper wrapper is discouraged and even prohibitted for some carriers.

Just make sure you have clear address label and you should be good to go.

Scratch out any references to previous addresses or shipping bar codes.

Shipping: Can I send a package with UPS if the box is a USPS Priority Mail box?

As others have said, UPS will take it. UPS will take boxes that USPS will not unless the marking on the box are covered. However, some have suggested turning the Priority box inside out. That will only work with the old Priority boxes. The new ones say Priority on the inside. Wrapping the box in paper will keep anyone from knowing you are using a USPS box with some other service.
