Does Verizon Edge Work Wih Any Plan You Currently Have Old Plan Or New One

My friend gave me a phone that doesn't have a SIM card, but works as a tracfone. Is there a way to....? (More)?

Is there a way to unlock the phone so I can use it as a regular phone on my Verizon wireless plan?? Like an unlock code I could use? The phone is an LG. Model number LG220C and I took out the battery and everything, and I see no SIM card. So wouldn't that mean that this phone can work on a CDMA network? I know tracfone uses TDMA but I am new to trying to hack cell phones so I've very confused because as far as I knew, TDMA required SIM cards as well...

Good phone for a 13 year old boy? verizon?

depends if this will be a pay as you go or contract. adding a new line to a plan & signing up for two years will allow you to choose from many cheap or free entry level smartphones. but committing to a two year contract for a 13 year old may be a bit too much too soon.verizon offers pre paid plans but you dont get the discount on the phone that you get when signing a two year agreement. remember also, he will have the compulsory data plan that is required for all smartphones on contract.
for a contract phone, go to the verizon web site or store to see the choices available, there are many to choose from $99 & under, even iphone4 wich is another good entry level smartphone for beginners. samsung is a good solid brand & the samsung galaxy SII is the best selling smartphone on the planet.
another option i have seen is walmart is selling the samsung precedent smartphone as a tracfone for $149 outright price with no contract. the prepaid deal is $45 per month & includes Unlimited talk text & data which is a relief not having to worry about overages. the phone looks nothing like a tracfone & is a real android smartphone from samsung. it has GPS, Wi Fi, bluetooth, android market with more free apps than available for iphone. the screen is 3.2 inches almost as big as the iphone & while the specs under the hood are not cutting edge, it is more than capable of performing well for him & a great priced entry level smartphone. keep in mind also that boys are a little bit more computer & tech inquisitive & than most girls & android may suit him better than iphone. plus he will love the 3D games on it like madden & GT racing, many games are free.
put it this way, if your brother can use your iphone & figure out things with it that you didn't even know it could do, then he will probably love android. i know its a bit more than you mentioned but i think the extra $50 would be well spent to get a good quality name brand smartphone at a bargain price on a pre paid plan.

Parents won't let me get the iPhone because of data plan.?

So I have Verizon and my contract is up. I really want the iPhone (Don't sit here and try to convince me to get a droid. I know what I want and there's many reasons why I'm choosing the iPhone over the droid so don't say anything about droid.) I could get the iPhone if you didn't have to pay $30 a month for data that can't be shared within your family plan. It's $30 per phone. I really want the iPhone but that $30 data plan won't fly with my parents. Is there any other plan to switch to that would be cheaper? Or has data sharing? If not, then try and help me think of good way to convince my parents to let me get the iPhone. I don't have enough time to get a job so don't list that as something I can do. Help!

Can you use a Verizon phone with Metro PCS?

Verizon Wireless network is a mixed network CDMA2000 and 4G-LTE[1] .Old Verizon phones work exclusively on CDMA2000 while new phones work on both standards.MetroPCS uses T-Mobile network which is a GSM (2G, 3G) and 4G-LTE network[2] .As for the frequencies used, the only possibility for a Verizon phone to work on a MetroPCS network is when it uses the AWS frequency 1700/2100, the protocol LTE and the Band Number 4, which is still not completely rolled out by T-Mobile.In other words, you may have little chances to make it work. Check with T-Mobile to see if their 1700/2100 frequency already supports LTE in the areas of your interest. This, of course, as long as the Verizon phone is not locked to work only with Verizon network.Footnotes[1] Verizon Wireless - Wikipedia[2] T-Mobile US - Wikipedia

Will an unlocked, Verizon Droid 3 work with a T-Mobile SIM card?

According to Wiki: "T-Mobile USA owns licenses to operate a 1900 MHz GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) "

The Droid 3 is listed as supporting GSM 850/900/1800/1900.

This being said, does this mean that (possibly with a little work) this phone would work with a T-Mobile SIM card?

How can I switch my phone from straight talk to Verizon?

As far as the phone goes, that's easy. All Verizon phones are compatible with Straight Talk, so you will just need to replace the Verizon SIM card in the phone with a Straight Talk SIM card. This is assuming you already own your phone. If you are still making payments on it, you will probably need to pay it off before you will be able to use it on Straight Talk. Straight Talk should provide you with this SIM or you can buy one online or at Wal-Mart.If you are looking to keep your phone number you will need to port it over from Verizon and should be able to do this either through Straight Talk's 800 number or their website. In order to port your number you will need your Verizon account number AND PIN number. If you do not have BOTH, you will not be able to use your number. Your Verizon number will also need to be active and in good standing at the time of the port request. If the number is suspended or disconnected, the port request will be denied by Verizon.
