Do stock charts include dividends?

Most stock charts that people reference do not include dividends.  The Total Return Price includes all dividends and captures the true investment return.  Here is the Johnson & Johnson Total Return Price (JNJ).  The chart below shows the difference between the Price and Total Return Price which is often significant for companies with strong dividend yields.

Best dividend stocks?

Without having more of your personal information, and current financial status and other data such as risk tolerance, martial status, and demographics it would be very inappropriate for me or any other responsible person, especially a profession from the investment industry, to provide specific investment information in this type of media.
At the same time it would not be prudent of you to accept any specific investment advice from those you personally know nothing about other than as a responder here YA

However, here are some websites that you will find very helpful

Did Yahoo Stock API shut down?

Yes, definitely. It seems that after several changes Yahoo Finance closed their API forever. I think, it’s a part of cost cutting strategy from Verizon. The API was closed on May 15, one month ago.I've tested several alternatives and found that https://eodhistoricaldata.com the best one for those who used Yahoo Finance. The services provides raw data, adjusted closes and splits/dividends. They also have CSV output, with very similar format for Yahoo Finance users. Also there is a https://intrinio.com/ data provider, looks good, but they much more expensive, have no data for Mutual Funds and API is very different in compare to Yahoo Finance. Then you need to significantly change your code.

Why is the Google Finance portfolio feature disabled and where can I get such feature for free elsewhere?

Google is depreciating Google Finance’s portfolio feature as part of their overhaul of the Finance user interface to make Finance easier to use on tablet and mobile devices (using the ‘tab’ UI element from Google’s Material Design heavily). Here’s a picture of the new layout currently in beta testing in some markets. (Original source). As part of this overhaul it is widely believed Google opted not to invest the money in porting across Google Finance Portfolios to the new design due to (relatively) small numbers of users still using the feature.Google has released a statement that suggests they’ll still support a basic ‘watchlist’ for stocks, but for tracking your investment portfolio you will want a full featured portfolio like Sharesight.Sharesight is a full featured stock portfolio tracker, it tracks dividends and corporate actions such as share splits, plus it supports comprehensive tax and performance reports (varies by country).Sharesight is better than Google Finance in many ways, as it calculates your return on an annualised basis. Plus it tracks the impact of brokerage fees, dividends and currency fluctuations — not only on your overall return — but at the individual holding level as well.Sharesight is free for up to 10 holdings, with paid plans starting after that point. Here’s a good post on the 4 key ways Sharesight is better than Google Finance for more information.(Disclaimer, I work at Sharesight, but i think the platform is very good).

How do i go online and buy stocks myself?

"Go to the store, buy them, bring them home, and they are mine from that point on??"

It is even simpler than that. You can buy them online!

Note, each time you buy or sell stocks, you'll be charged a commission fee. Different "stores" (called brokerage firms) charge different rates. Scottrade is the best. They only charge $7/trade with no hidden fees.

To buy stocks online with Scottrade.com, you have to first open an account with them. You'll need $500 and deposit the money in your account. After that, they'll give you an account number and a password. You go home, log in, and you'll see your balance...

You can click on the "Trade" menu on the website, and fill out a small form. You have to enter the stock symbol of the company that you want to buy. How many shares, etc... When you are finished, you click on the button and then confirm your order. This process takes less than a minute, and the moment you confirm your order, the stock appears in your portfolio. Every time you log in, you'll see how your stock is doing.
