How good is the American Express Serve Card?
It is one of the better options for prepaid cards ( i don't work for them). You can read the consumer review on the website nerdwallet ( free to visit - i am not associated with the site). The idea is that the Serve card will serve as your wallet in the future. You can set it up for direct deposit of your paycheck. It's FDIC insured so it is like a bank account. There might be a fee per use for online and retail shopping which was scheduled to begin Jan 1st, 2014. That might be a consideration if you shop a lot. AMEX is not as widely accepted as Visa or Mastercard, but that shouldn't be a huge problem.

no unfortunately...because it has to be a real monthly paid credit card...because microsoft wants to be able to make sure you pay for everything ALL the time. So if you somehow were able to do it...your prepaid card would eventually run out.
