How does having a dog as a pet makes you a better person?

OP: How does having a dog as a pet makes you a better person?A dog depends on you for everything. A happy dog is one that is loved. Dogs are generally good. They usually want to please their pack master (you). Being good to animals helps people (children) learn to care about other people.Does having a good thing depending on you make you a better human being? One would hope so; however, people can be vile creatures. If a person is cruel and hurtful to an animal that is wholly dependent upon them (cases abound everywhere), what is to stop them from hurting or being cruel to other people?I've often heard/read that the measure of a man can be made by how he treats their mother or how he treats a dog. If they are disrespectful to their mother, they will most likely be the same with their wives or other women in their life. The same goes with how they treat an animal. If they hurt an innocent creature that depends on them, what's to stop them from hurting a child or you?I have always listened when my dogs show their dislike for someone. Dogs can often sense (maybe by mannerisms or pheromones?) when someone has an evil intent. Know your pets. Know when they are sensing something bad around you.

Has the internet made you a better person?

No. Internet will not make you a better person. People don't suddenly become better when holding an almighty tool (for example, Thanos the Snappy Man). The most important thing is self reflection. As long as you reflect yourself honestly and you see yourself growing to become a better person, you are good to go.Well, at least with the internet, you can get smart quickly, which is a nice thing.

Why is my dog better than yours?

I have had several dogs in my life. All my dogs have been the best dog in the universe. That’s why my dog is better than your dog. If you gave me your dog, then he would be the best dog in the universe, because he would be my dog.

Do you think you're a better person because of having a pet?

Yes, most certainly. And looking back at my childhood and the whole process of growing up, I realize now that having a pet not only made me a better person but, in fact, it made me a person! That may sound odd, but in my case I grew up as a military kid. Those are just a few of the places I have lived. As a little kid I became terrifyingly shy. And introverted. And I was alone most of the time. My father went out and brought home a dog for me. An older dog. A red, short-haired Dachshund. He was a miniature. And I fell in love. That dachshund, and the three who followed later, saved me from loneliness, depression, insecurity, and shyness. They taught me about love, helped me become a more social being, more responsible, more compassionate, and they truly were my best friends.

How has your dog made your life better?

My dogs taught me about love and loyalty.Let me tell you about my first chow. As a puppy, she was fun to play with and as she got older, she became more sedate and quiet. During my elementary years, she would wait by the front door in the mornings and see me out to school. Then my father would notice that at exactly three in the afternoon, she would sit by the gate of our house to wait for my arrival from school. She was always there, dependable and comforting. Best of all, she didn’t receive any training at all for this.During moments when life felt unbearable, she would automatically follow me into the house and we would lie down on my bed together with her head always close by for me to rub. She sensed my feelings and offered reassurance, unconditional love. Not all dogs are the same and my chow will forever be unique for the kind of love she shared with me during this difficult period in my life. I will always be grateful that she was there for me.
