Doesnt It Mean You Are Strong When You Are Obese For Carrying Around All The Weight

For WOMEN...Does weight really matter in a man?

i would never reject a guy because of weight. most men carry weight around their stomach. honestly, i'm turned off by a guy who is self conscious about their body because it just makes me feel worse about my body if i can't see what they are complaining about..girls are self conscious enough, just make her feel special and she won't care what you look like

When I gain weight why does fat get stored around my midsection only?

First of all, your body stores fat in your midsection (your abdomen, hips or buttocks) due to basic biomechanics. The midsection of your body is the best place to store extra energy because it takes less energy to carry it around. Remember, fat storage is a survival strategy, so your body wants to maximize energy efficiency in the creation, storage and use of body fat.It wouldn't make sense to have a lot of extra fat on your fingers and toes because you'd have to swing those around when you moved and that would require extra caloric expenditure. So given that your body wants to store fat as a way to have portable energy, it makes perfect sense that it would prefer to store that fat in your midsection.Secondly, from an anthropological point of view, the placement of body fat also has some implications for mate selection. This is especially true in women, where fat is stored in locations like the hips, buttocks and breasts to actually create a more attractive physical body in order to attract a potential mate. In this way, the fat is stored in predetermined locations on your body for much the same reason that a male peacock has brightly colored feathers -- it's part of the mating game, so to speak. Exaggeration of physical traits is a common evolutionary strategy for mate attraction in primates, including humans. And body fat can be used cosmetically to pursue this strategy. (Of course, it all happens automatically. You don't have to "think" about where to put your body fat on any particular day, any more than you have to "think" about why you might sometimes feel attracted to another person.)Thirdly, your body stores fat wherever you have fat cells. This may sound obvious, but it's actually interesting when you realize that people who undergo liposuction to remove fat cells from their body end up causing a redistribution of fat to other locations that might be less desirable.

Is it true that fat people are strong because of the weight they are carrying around all day?

No. because they don’t “carry it around all day”. obese people in my experience are more likely to take the opportunity to rest and avoid physical activity than slim people.I’ve never seen this in my own country, at least not en masse with the supermarket actually providing the mobility scooter. if I did, I think I’d be sorely tempted to mutter not very nice things under my breath. Some of those people may be genuinely ill but for those who are not. Why can’t they figure out that if they got off the scooter and pushed a trolley around, eventually they would feel a lot better and disdain the scooter? This does matter because in all countries, whether they have universal healthcare or not, ‘fit’ people end up subsidising the bad lifestyle habits of the unfit, Americans through exorbitant insurance premiums.

Why does fat make one stronger.........................

Don't say it doesn't because it does, in few ways different than being skinnier.

When you're really fat and thick and you have explosive strength it helps you lift more weight faster and easier than having just muscle alone.

Fat also does make your back hurt a lot less when you lift heavy objects and weights(been there done that).

So why does the fat itself help in some ways?

Am I too overweight to start horse riding?

Since no one else wants to be the jerk, I'll go ahead and do it. Since you didn't say, I am going to assume you are at least 5'6" and 15 stone means 210 lbs.

I am a riding instructor. You are right on the cusp of what I would consider appropriate weight for learning to ride at our barn (which teaches hunter jumper). If I think you weigh over 250 lbs and are the same height, I would kindly tell your parents that you are too heavy to ride our horses. If you are that heavy, you would have to ride a large draft horse before the horse would be comfortable handling your weight as a beginner rider.

Honestly, think about it. It's not fair to the horse. How good is your balance? How flexible are you? How strong are you? How is your endurance? You need all this to ride English well. Any beginner is going to lose their balance and flop around a little bit. It's expected. But it's just not fair to put 250 lbs on their back and slam it around without expecting injury or, at the very least, some soreness. Can they handle it? Sure. Probably. Is it cruel to the animal and it's well being? Yes. This is a SPORT people. Would you ask the same question to the coach of a soccer team?

And honestly, you are 16. Go get healthy now before it's too late. Your parents should be ashamed for allowing your lifestyle to make you that overweight. Go get fit. Then start riding. You will not only have a much easier time progressing in your skills, but it will be so much more fun and much easier to begin with.

Why is the scale saying I am losing weight but I feel and look the same?

I recently weighed myself after not doing it for a few months and saw that I had dropped about 15lbs. At first I thought the scale must be broken but my brother says it works fine. And I haven't lifted in about a week due to the gym closing for major repairs but I couldn't have lose that much muscle in a week. I just recently started doing aerobics again instead of just weight lifting but why do I still look like nothing has gone away?

Why do the "world's strongest men" have so much fat on them?

This was explained to me by my weightlifting coach, Jim Schmitz, who was the US National Team coach for many years. And still competes at the age of 80His philosophy is that that some people are strong at a certain weight, but much stronger at a higher weight. Additionally, as some athletes lean out, they risk getting injured.A good example is his former athlete Bruce Wilhelm, who he said was just much, much stronger when he was heavier. Here is Bruce winning the 1977 Strongman titleAlthough Ken Patera claimed that, for the tug-of-war, 'there is an advantage to being fat, he out weighs me by 50 pounds!"Jim had lamented that, frequently, some other coaches tried to lean out his top notch super heavyweight lifters -- and they just got weaker. So he did not want them to try.Of course, it also culturalWhenever I seem weaker in training he asks'are you trying to go f*cking Paleo again' ? or'who wants you to have six packs abs?; I don't want you to have six pack abs! Just lift the f*ckin weight'and so onWeightlifting takes a lot out of you, and unless you are on a super strict diet, you are not going to have the energy to do heavy cardio. Then again, some of the crossfitters seem to be able to do both and do a great job.A lot of this culture is due to experience in just seeing who is really strong and what it takes to get strong, and it is probably also due to the influence of strong men like Paul Anderson, the strongest man in recorded historyAnd this was at time before steroids were available! These days, it is possible to win world medals without steroids and being very lean using the Carb Nite diet (what some people call insulin hacking)My good friend JoAnn Aita has proven thisShe and her husband are world champions and and not at all fat.JoAnn also invented a new kind of squat set for her post-baby training. She would do heavy back squats, then go breast feed her infant son, then do another set of heavy squats. It depends on the athlete, their genetics/biology, their diet, and their style of training. And their goals.

My boyfriend weighs less than me?!?!!!?

Hi! Im 13 and he is 13, I weigh 110-113 and he weighs 93 pounds. He's VERY skinny and very strong. He's all muscles. I am on the chubbier side. My genetics. I feel really fat around him and he wants me to sit on his lap but I feel like I would crush him! I'm 5'5 and he's 5'3 btw. I let him carry me when we are in the pool because the water makes u weigh less. So, is it normal for a girl to wear more than her bf?! Should I sit on his lap or will I crush him? Do I need to lose weight?!

Does being 300 pounds help with powerlifting?

No. If you are big with mostly body fat, poor nutrition, poor sleeping habits, bad health, then 300-pounds of body weight is not going to help you with squats, deadlifts, and bench. Competitive PL is not for you. YOU can start training for rehabilitation with the focus on nutrition, recovery under supervision. Consider it as a journey. It takes time.Andrew Billings. Andrew is 6 foot tall and he is at 311-pound body weight. He is super quick and agile for his body weight. If you are big, strong naturally and healthy, even with excess body fat ( metabolically healthy), then YES, you can leverage your body weight to hoist big deadlifts, big loads of squat and bench. It means you must master these lifts first and It doesn't mean you can be competitive. You may be potentially competitive using a suitable training(you need a coach) and nutritional program backed by good recovery, in few years. Your genetic, training and coaching will determine the outcome.Consider it as a journey. It takes time.Eating tons of protein and eating “ healthy” alone, will not make you strong You need to train hard for few years to earn it. Powerlifting is an intense sporting activity designed for the athlete who is willing to train hard for many years following the lifestyle. Some very young men at an early age are naturally strong, gifted with amazing genetics and very athletic. For example, Andrew Billings is exceptional individual. He is massively strong athlete. Nevertheless, he trains hard and without a tremendous amount of training, he would not be able to pull those big loads.Note that behind the scenes, there are talented coaches that make these athletes. The role of coaching is critical.
