Why don't I understand what I read?

I was dealing with the same problem. Whatever I comprehend from reading used to be completely drlifferent from what it really means. I met a habitual reader and explained about my problem. Here are the tips he suggested to me.First of all read anything to understand and get something out of it.Keep a dictionary with you along reading.Read slowly. Understand the meaning of every word and its meaning in the particular situation, like in the story or scene from drama etc. A single word can mean multiple things in different scenarios.Note down important points out of your reading and read them when you feel you don't remember or understand what you read.Read Everyday. Reading will become a good habit.I followed this procedure and saw improvements in one month. One year down the line I was far more better in understanding what I read. I hope it helps you to encounter the problem.

Why do I KEEP GETTING cold sores?

I keep getting cold sores. It's starting to get really bad. I have had them for as long as I can remember, but they have never been this bad. I would get a cold sore on average every six months. About three months ago - which was when I was fired from my job - I got a cold sore. I understood why I got it; it was because I was stressed from losing my job. Then, three weeks after, I got another cold sore. I didn't know why this time, but it didn't seem like a big deal. I started taking vitamin C, zinc, b-12, and a multivitamin every single morning, and more vitamin C at night because I'm around smoking people all the time. That cold sore went away, and two weeks later I got another one. Then, just when it went away, three popped up. Two on my bottom left lip, and one on my top right lip. They are just now going away, I still have the scab from one of them on my bottom lip. This morning I woke up, and I've got yet another one on my bottom lip forming.
I have an appointment with the doctor for the 1st of February, because that's when my insurance kicks in. He's already told me to wait for the insurance because the medicine he is going to give me is $200, and I can't afford that out of my own pocket.
I just don't understand why I keep getting them! I am perfectly happy, not really stressed at all. I am enrolled to start college soon, and I am super excited about that, I have a wonderful relationship with my boyfriend, and my parents are great. Everything is fine.
So, can anyone explain to me why I keep getting them? They have never been this bad before, and I can't figure out why it's so bad!
Also, I have already taken all the precautions to keep from getting a cold sore. I change all my bedsheets and pillow cases after an outbreak, I wash it every two hours, I've used an ice cube and then put alcohol on it every two hours, I don't touch my lip and when I do I make sure to wash my hands. I've done everything I could find on the internet. I did find that lysine is supposed to help, so I am about to go pick some up. NOTHING IS WORKING! I know that once I get the medicine from my doctor it should help, but I don't want to wait that long. They are getting extremely painful and large. It's starting to really get annoying.
Any help would be appreciated, but just so that people answer the question I want answered, I will put it here:
I would like to know the reason why I keep getting cold sores.
Thanks.

Why do I keep getting raped?

I dont understand why I keep getting raped. I have been raped three times this year alone. And twice when I was just twelve. Why does this keep happening to me? I dont dress like a whore and I dont even wear dark makeup. I wish I could poof into thin air. Nobody understands the hell i live in everyday, it hurts just to breathe. Ever since this sh** happened I dont care about myself Im to worthless to even try. I simply dont care! I have had sex with serveral grown men and im just 15. I try so hard to feel loved but it never feels right. I cant even be pretty anymore. I was raped a couple of weeks ago and my face was nearly beat in. I feel like the only thing im close to is my cat. He means everything to me, but hes getting sick and he might die, I have lost everything i dont wanna lose my cat to. My first sexual experience was rape, I mean how much worse could it get. I just wanna give up....

How do I stop getting discouraged when I don't understand something the first time?

I just do what Isaac Newton said he did when he was asked how he made his discoveries — I think and I think and I think about it.Often, what you don’t understand one day will be clear when you wake up the next. And you can easily find that what’s heavy lifting when you study it for the first time as a freshman, say, is second nature when you come back to it as a sophomore. At the opposite extreme, I’ve had large unsolved problems in the back of my mind for decades — and sometimes, I’ve found the solution. The key I think is not to think of understanding as something upon which you’re being judged, but rather as something that you’re trying to achieve. So you keep gnawing at the problem the way a dog gnaws at a bone, and eventually, you do understand.Remember that even the greatest thinkers had problems that they couldn’t solve.Newton couldn’t figure out how to transmute lead into gold, and Einstein couldn’t develop a satisfactory unified field theory. If there were things that Einstein and Newton couldn’t understand, why would you feel bad about not understanding something yourself?Genius doesn’t look at the inability to understand as a defeat — it takes it as a challenge!

Why do i keep getting rejected by girls?

I know this sounds ridiculous, but I am a girl and I will tell you a secret to charming us.

Our attraction to guys, contrary to popular belief, is NOT physical, or not entirely. You have to be physically attracted to a guy to want to date him, so maybe some of these girls just didn't find you attractive.

BUT the secret to attracting girls is CONFIDENCE. Be yourself, don't care what anyone else thinks. If girls don't like you, think that its their problem for not liking you and their loss. I know this sounds awful but to be honest confidence is really what gets girls. A man with confidence is extremely attractive.

Also, dress well. Women love looking at things. If someone is well dressed and well groomed, their attractiveness instantly goes up. And if you're fit, you've already got a great attractor right there.

Dude, don't despair. You are young and there are SO many girls out there. Keep your respect for girls, be a gentleman. Open doors for them, pull their chair out for them when you're out to dinner, all of that stuff is really nice. Despite feminism, women do like to be treated like ladies by men, not objects.

Spruce yourself up and get cracking on your confidence, and hopefully you'll have some luck :)
