Dose Any One Know How Much Money More Can Get By Using Recycling Machine

How does a recycling business make money?

My father has been in the recycling business for almost 40 years as a quality control chemist to trading aluminum and stainless steel for a large, national recycler to managing a local branch to opening his own small center 20 years ago.  My first job was "doing the dirty work" at his shop for minimum wage $6.15/hr.Recycling is part of a hierarchy where there is sorting and processing at each stage and then collecting in a large volumes before selling it to the next level up for a higher margin. Then repeat.I'll use aluminum as an example, but it applies to anything. If you take a garbage bag of empty soda cans to your local recycling center, you may get $0.30/lb.The recycling center will remove more off the remaining liquid, crush them, and collect them in semi-trailers until they accumulate ~15,000 lbs.  They'll then ship it to a larger wholesale recycler that will pay $0.45/lb for the cleaner, bulk buy. That center might stamp them put into huge bales or collect them into larger quantities to sell to a processor like Alcoa for, say, $0.60/lb.Alcoa will then melt the cans, remove the impurities, and cast them into ingots (big blocks).Another company will then buy these ingots at $1/lb and melt them and cast them into a finished product like manhole covers, window siding, car rims, or more cans.Of course, it requires a certain type and purity of aluminum depending on the intended use. They may mix in some other materials to make the alloy based on their need. While we think of aluminum, copper, brass, etc. as a single big group; there are dozens of subcategories based on its chemical composition and purity. If you know what you have, you can sell it to someone looking for that specific formula and command a higher margin. For example, the aluminum used in power lines is much purer than aluminum used to make soda cans. And, no, the tabs on cans are not worth more than the rest of the can (they're actually worth slightly less). Since they're usually collected as part of some charitable cause, the recycling center will typically give you a good price.

Recycling Bottles and Cans for Money?

In California and Michigan, they take cans for cash. Hey Man, do me a favor, if you are in need of money, use your pc instead of just answering answers on yahoo.com and go to the Safeway website. Then look up your local store and call them on your cell phone. The service desk will answer and ask the question. I mean, do you think that they will remember you. YOU are doing the right thing for the environment and your self.

If they don't, Look up recycling center in the yellow pages, and there are facilities that you can take the items into that will pay you per pound but it is really small and hell.... it may be less than the price of gas.

Good Luck

How much money do you get per can at the recycling place and do you have smash the cans?

You get about $5 for a 30-gallon trash bag full of cans, uncrushed. I don't bother crushing mine. When the bag is full, I have another $5. After five bags full, I can take my wife out for Nachos and a couple Margaritas. My local Von's has a recycle place in the parking lot and then you go into the store to redeem your ticket. Stay thirsty, my friend.

How much money can you get for recycling aluminum cans?

If you live in a state that offers a required deposit, then your prices are set. You’ll simply need to turn in the aluminum cans based on local laws and retail outlet procedures. Make sure you don’t crush the aluminum cans if you live in a deposit state because many of the machines have barcode scanners contained within them that will validate the deposit on the can.If you’re turning in your aluminum cans at the local scrap yard, then you can choose to crush them if you wish. Some scrap yards may prefer that the cans be crushed because this makes it much more difficult to fill the can with sand or other heavier items that will reduce their profits. Some may even refuse to take cans that haven’t been crushed. There is generally no legal requirement that forces you to do this.To get the best prices, you’ll need to watch for changing market conditions. If prices are below $0.60 per pound on the commodities exchange, then there’s a good chance the aluminum cans will be priced at $0.30 per pound. Holding onto them until they reach $0.40 per pound or more can make the potential for profit much greater. Make sure your cans are cleaned, free of debris, and lightly checked with a magnet before turning them in to avoid sending any non-aluminum cans.

Do you make more money recycling bottles and cans for 5cents each or by the weight?

Here the redemption value is based on the volume of the containers.
Larger than 24 oz is twice the value but not always twice the weight.
Remember that the value they place when they do it by weight is a high average.
I have always felt better about getting a per item refund rather than the bulk rate.

How can I make money from plastic waste recycling?

This is a good business. You firstly need knowledge of plastic materials. Plastic is divided into many types depending upon application such as HDPE the blue or black drums you see even here you have three type of HDPE that is for small medium and large drums. Similarly there are different application for each type of plastic (other type of plastic is LDPE, LLDPE, PP and as mentioned HDPE these are commdity grade and also most widely used then you have engineering plastic such as PC,ABS,NYLON, HIPS and so on).You need a grinding machine which will convert entire plastic scrap into small chips. Then you need a extruder such chips from grinder are mixed with master batch which is a coloring agent. After passing from extruder you will get granules. These granules are then again used for manufacturing plastic products. The finishing and strength wont be as good as using fres granules. But this reduces cost by 30 to 35%.Remember you cannot mix two type of plastic together while making these granules. Such granules are called as repo or reprocessed granules. As i said you will need to first educate yourself on types of plastic. You will also need good supplier of scrap.Returns are anywhere between 7–15%. Countries like India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Africa have a good market and demand for this never gose down. Sametime these countries do lot of recycling too.Recently European region is encouraging lot of recycling. But their tech is high end and expensive. Recyclers there find it difficult to sell material outside Europe. But it may well be noted that internal European demand is good enough.I have kept it real short but hope it helps.Reach me at paragjthakkar@gmail.com if you need more info.Cheers!
