Dream Explanation Kind Of A Nightmare For Me.

What does it mean to only have had nightmares/bad dreams as a child?

It probably means you heeded them…. Nightmares (by definition a kind of lucid dream) are kind of like the brains way of alarming the dreamer to a life lesson they need to learn… most likely to some kind of untenable situation that the dreamers life is steering towards… if you fix the issue, you no longer need the dream… that may have been what happened in your case…So congratulations it seems you developed and grew beyond the need for them at that time… it doesn’t mean you will never get any again, but with any luck, even if you do, you have some experience and can overcome it, because you know that you have done so before. While it is true that people don’t need to be terrorized by their nightmares, saying that isn’t enough help for the afflicted to see the truth of it, and really the truth of it is all you need…A couple of things about nightmares…One- Dreams tend to be more emotional-based than anything so dream symbology may or may not be useful, so to put it in another way it doesn’t matter if it is a shark or a toothbrush chasing you, it matters how you feel about the dream situation…Two- They are all about the fear/alert/alarm - that is in some cases literally all some of them are, but possibly the entire reason they become lucid to begin with is that they cause some kind of alarm, that alarm alerts the dreamer and with alert comes heightened senses, which means the dreamer takes in more vivid detail of the bad dream content which creates a vicious cycle… This is because the nightmare content is most likely all there is to be sensing - in waking life however that alert heightens your senses so you can better find an escape from danger, etc… Once the truth of this is realized it is clear that you need to learn to overcome that alert factor to break out of the dream, if that is your goal (which in most cases it shouldn’t be… the reason you had the dream in the first place should be… )I hope this helps and I wish you many future… Sweet Dreams

What does this weird dream/nightmare mean?

Dreams are Terrific :) ... ok well firstly congratulations you know that you can dream lucidly, since a nightmare by definition is a kind of lucid dream.Secondly you are too wrapped up in the situation and analyzing it for its symbols to look at it for what it really is.  Dreams are often emotional so the events don't need to make sense, and a fiery crash doesn't mean tomorrow you will eat breakfast at 3.00 or that Mercury is rising in the third house of Capricorn... if any of that even makes sense.   What you need to do is understand how you feel about the situation at the time, and nobody can tell you that, only you know.Coupled with the above knowledge and the fact that you wake up unharmed, in fact the only thing the nightmare does to you is perhaps traumatize you mentally from having such a dream experience, however it hasn't altered your physical existence in any way.  You wake up just as healthy physically as you were when you went to sleep, so hopefully realizing that can take some of the fear away.Another issue about the fear is that you NOTICE more when you are alert, that is to say your senses get heightened from a feeling of danger, this creates a vicious cycle in nightmares because they alarm (in this case equivalent to alert) you so you take in more information about it, which alerts you even more.Hopefully some of the things I've said will be tools to help you see the dream for what it really is... It doesn't matter if it is a shark or a toothbrush chasing you it matters how you feel about the situation at the time.Good Luck and I wish you many future ... Sweet Dreams.

Dreams and Dreaming: Why don't I get nightmares?

I wouldn’t be worried about it if I were you. Nightmares are far from being a pleasant experience. But of course there’s a scientific answer for your question. Most probably you don’t have nightmares, because your noradrenaline levels are in the norm. Noradrenaline is a chemical, secreted in stressful situations motivating you to take action. There’s only one moment during the day, when noradrenaline is practically non-existent, and that is REM sleep. When we dream our memories get “de-emotionalized,” so any stress-related chemical shouldn’t take part in this process. But when you’re stressed out, your noradrenaline levels are on the rise. Sometimes they get so high, they don’t decrease even during REM. And that’s when you have nightmares. You can read more about chemistry of nightmares and how to prevent them here.

Explain the worst nightmare that you ever had about your boyfriend?

A kind of nightmare like in the dream he was angry and fighting with you and wouldn't talk to you and wanted to leave you. Explain the dream. I've been having alot of them lately and I'm curious if others have the same ones as I do

My wife and I woke up at the same time with the same nightmare. Is there a scientific explanation for this?

The scientific explanation could be interesting. Studies have found that twins are likely to have the same dream many nights, and not just because coincidence. Dreams are based on how the day went, and if two people went through the same day together and think the same way, then it can only be logical that they are still partially thinking about the day when they go to sleep, but both in the same thinking. So if they both went on a camping trip and feared the dark around them, it is very likely they will both dream of scary things while in their dark dream world. Keep in mind that your nightmare may not be PRECISELY identical to your wife, since obviously you two are NOT identical-thinking twins. Waking up at the same time could also be part of the REM-cycle. A few people did a study once, and found that the best sleep cycle is 8-4-8-4 [off the top of my head, I may be a little off on this one]. It wouldn't be too unusual for you two to wake up at the same time due to the natural cycle. Alternatively, one of your awakening stirred the other.

Dream/Nightmare about a body falling out of a caseket?

I have had the same type of dream/nightmare twice now but different settings and different people. The dream is about being at a funeral and the people carrying the casket drop it over and over again and the body falls out. Please help if you know the anwser this dream is driving me NUTZ!

Why did my nightmare come true? What does it mean?

A few nights ago I had this nightmare that I opened my front door, and there staring me in the face was a cobra. It wasn't just any kind of snake though. Most peculiar of all is that the way it looked at me like it could sense my fear. When I woke up I broke out in chills. I am terrified of snakes; it's literally the only thing that has ever terrified me. Then today when I opened the door to take out the trash and walk my dog; there it was a miniature version of my nightmare. It looked like the snake I saw in my dream but smaller, and it actually laid there staring at me with that same look. Is it possible that this is some kind of omen or has some sort of meaning? I know this sounds terribly stupid, but I really am shaken by it.
