Dried Hair Out Help Help

How does a hair dryer help to style hair?

To help me explain, let me show you what a straight hair looks like when it has no damage:Here all the cuticles are flat it makes the hair looker smoother and more reflective. When hair is curly, there are bends in the hair, which means that the cuticle isn't lying completely flat:When hair is damaged, the cuticle doesn't lie flat, it is usually because too much heat or chemical processes have been applied to it and the cuticles are all rough. When you apply heat to your hair it becomes more flexible and you can temporarily effect the cuticles. Blowing drying hair straight: This is done by blowing hot air down the length of the cuticle, with the grain. This makes your hair shiny and smoothBlowing drying hair so it is full with volume at the roots: This is done by blowing your hair upside down or against the cuticles. This roughens the hair up, but also gives volume at the roots, where the the cuticle tends to be much smoother (because it is newer and hasn't had the chance to get damaged).Blowing drying hair with a wave: This is done by applying a lot of pressure to your hair with a brush, and blowing in a very smooth bend. The success of this depends how ruffled your cuticles are too start with as it is easier to 'bend them into shape' when they are rougher. So you might get a good wave in hair that is damaged, coarse or already has a wave, that hair that is healthy and sleek. It is also hard to yourself and best done with direct heat (tongs or straighteners) as it lasts longer.

Help with my weirdly dry hair?

Ok, my hair really gets on my nerves. it's wavy and used to be in quite good condition and go into really nice curles. when i was about 13 i straightened it everyday for like a year and it ended up split, but not dry and still got nice curls (when i say curls it's more waves). the only thing is, whenever i dye my hair it instantly goes completely dry but i hate my natural hair colour! i left all the dye to grow out last year and you can literally see how it was dry where it was dyed and glossy where it wasn't. my hair is currently blonde and it's not split, just dry! if i don't wash my hair for a bit longer than usual it goes into really good condition on the ends and goes glossy again but the roots are greasy. i normally wash it every 2 to 3 days and use serum in it when it's wet to twist my curls into shape. sometimes it works but i always have these 2 sections of really dry horrible hair and the rest of my hair is ok. no idea what to do! help i just want glossy nice hair. any treatments or products that ACTUALLY work? or tips? thanks.

My bleached hair is so dry!?

I did 2 soap caps on my hair 2 months ago and then colored it blonde with non ammonia hair color. Since then my hair has been ridiculously dry. I cannot get it to hydrate for anything. No breakage or falling out, it s just super dry. I use "malibu miracle repair" once a week. I also use "redken anti snap leave in treatment" once a week. I only shampoo 2-3 times a week and use "matrix biolage hydrasource shampoo." I was using "it s a 10 miracle hair mask" a couple times a week but I swear it was drying my hair out more. SO I used a clarifying shampoo which really made no difference. I only use the cool setting on my hair dryer, rarely flat iron and if I do I use heat protector spray. To finish my hair I usually run "chi silk infusion" or some kind of leave in conditioner through it. What the heck else can I do? I have naturally thick and coarse hair to begin with but it s never been this dry.

I hate my dry hair..please help me out?

Olive oil!!!
Get about 1 cup of olive oil and put it in the microwave for 10-15 seconds until it's nice and warm, and then use your fingers to comb it through your hair.
Then leave it in for 30 minutes or so, and wash it out. You may have to shampoo a little more than normal to get it all out, but afterwards when your hair is dry, it will be SO soft and smooth.

Dry, Damaged, Brittle Hair. Please help.?

Both my sister and I have used the egg and mayo mixture ands it worked for us. Our hair looked healthier and shinier.

I used to have extremely dry hair but my hair now is shiny and not nearly as dry as it used to be. My mom's friend suggested this to me, and she works at a really high end salon. I tried it out and it really works. So here's the trick:

When you use conditioner when in the shower, your hair might not be able to absorb it all because it is drenched in water. After shampooing and rinsing, wring your hair out and towel-dry it so it is only a bit wet but not dripping. To do this, just stick your head out of the shower and towel dry; no need to step out and really get in there. When you feel your hair is dry enough (a little more wet than damp), get back in the shower and put your conditioner in.

I suggest getting a hairclip that will hold all your hair up and clip your hair up while your in the shower, giving the condtioner a chance to soak in. Soap up and do whatever your shower routine is and when you're ready to step out, take the hair clip off and rinse your hair out.

Trust me, it works. I use Joico shampoo.

A hot oil massage might be a good idea too.

Some products my family uses that aren't madatory, but help: I use a product called Frizz-Ease from the John Frieda Collection. It's a hair serum that you put in your hair when it's still soaking wet. It's kinda like an oil. You can also use Moroccan Oil, which you should be able to find at your salong, and use that. My mom uses Moroccan Oil and though its quite pricy, it works like no other product.

For coloring hair, does towel-dry mean the hair needs to dry completely?

The hair dye I'm using says to shampoo and towel-dry hair before coloring. Does that mean dry my hair so it's still damp, or dry it completely before coloring it?

Can i blow dry my hair after coloring it?

It's safe to style your hair using any products you would normally use. Keep in mind that blow drying does damage your hair, as does coloring it, so you may want to use some hot oil on it once a week to keep it moisturized.
Good luck.
