Driving Instructor Changed Mind On Test

In the Driver's ED car, does the instructor have a brake on his/her side of the car?

Well im very nervous to get behind the wheel of a car with a complete stranger because i've only driven with my dad and he keeps me calm. Lmao. Im going to be in drivers es here in the next week and i dont know what they expect you to know when you get behind the wheel. How many people are in the car with you? just the instructor? or is there another kid also? Any tips or things to practice would be a lot of help. :) Im soooo scared but yet sooooo excited to drive. I just dont want to kill myself and whoever else is in the car with me while driving.

How do I pass my driving test?!?

I took my driving test for the first time on Thursday, and I failed.

The worst part was when I came to a red light and the examiner asked me to make a right turn. I was so scared so I didn't turn for like 30 seconds of clear streets. I felt like he was getting impatient so I started to go forward and right then a car drove through the intersection and the examiner was like "WOAHHHHHH!" (of course, the one car that comes is when I decide to turn). I knew I failed after that point....

So my question is, is it better to wait until the light turns green to make a right turn? Can he fail me if I don't make a right turn on red when it's clear? I know it was completely my fault and the guy was really nice, but I just feel so stupid. All my friends got their license on the first try, and everybody at the DMV that went before me got their license. I wasted 2 hours of my life sitting next to creepy guys and total strangers just to make a stupid mistake and fail (he didn't have any other comments).

How do I get over the nervousness? My leg was shaking so badly that I could hardly hit the break pedal when I had to stop. All of my mistakes were because I was nervous. Please help, the DMV is hell on Earth and I don't want to go back for a long time. I've had my permit for 2 years and have soooo much practice, but I can't show my skill during the test. Pleaseplease give me tips :(

Has anyone heard anything about Swift Truck Driving School?

My father-in-law is one of the instructors for the school in Millington, TN. My husband used to drive for Swift, out of Memphis terminal. My hubby was a driver mentor (the one who wears those pretty blue shirts and drives around with the students fresh out of the school). I dont care what trucking company you or anyone else talks about, nothing is ever the truth. The only reason I would think that he wont graduate yet is because he may not of been able to pass the "hard test". This is a very hard written test. I dont know your hubbys name so I wont be able to ask my father in law anything. I do know that they set an "allowance" with the students. I am not sure what they are getting these days. I also know that once they graduate they are put on a mentors truck for 6 weeks and they mentor will test them and say whether they are ready for their own truck or not.

Like I said, my hubby no longer works for Swift, he found greener pastures and a better paying trucking company that treats him good. I do agree that Swift is one of the better schools out there, only cause there isnt that many left. I dont agree that you should have to drive for them forever just to pay back your schooling. Once your hubby gets into the driving its a whole nother ballgame. Swift's policy is 14 days out at a time. While he is on the mentors truck he has home time when the mentor has home time. The mentor will put him in a motel where ever the mentor lives. I do know that if the mentor lives close to where the student lives, the student can have someone drive to get him, but has to drive him back to where the mentor lives when the mentor is ready to leave out. I know that is not what you wanted to hear. Hang in there. I hope it gets better for you.

How can i learn to switch lanes better while driving?

I just recently got my license at the ripe old age of 22 and am doing everything I can to be a good driver. I am good at everything however I do have issues with switching lanes correctly. My problems is that I don't like to take my eyes off the road and sometimes rely on the rear view mirror for my driving, lol. I know this is not the proper way to do it bc I need to check my blind spot. I just have issues bc I am just now starting to drive and have a hard time turning around without worrying about what is going on in front of me. Any suggestions:?

I am to take my UK driving test (practical) next week. Any tips to pass it in the first attempt?

Depending on how far you want to go, there are a few thing you can do.Firstly, your chances of passing are significantly influenced by how much practise you get behind the wheel. However, this is expensive because petrol is expensive, so you can use visualisation to help (elite athlete, business leaders, etc) use visualisation and it's been proven to work almost as effectively as performing the action itself as it mentally prepares you for the situation - this article has an overview related to taking a driving test: Using visualisation to help you pass your driving test.Other than that, make sure that you eat healthily on the day and stay hydrated. Dehydration will cause sluggishness. If your test is in the afternoon avoid eating foods with high fat and protein content like a pie because they will make you sleepy. Also, stay away from highly spiced foods because otherwise you'll create an unfavourable atmosphere in the car and the examiner will want to get out of it. Choose a lunch with lots of vegetables and neutral, bland ingredients. If you get at all anxious then practise some breathing exercises to calm you down.As Rob Vint said, stay calm and be friendly towards the examiner. A confident handshake is good. Have your driving instructor take you through mock tests so you know what to expect. When you drive, mimic the test environment. You won't be listening to music in your test, so don't listen to music when you are practising because that creates extra cognitive load when you then are in a pressure situation and the parameters have changed.Good luck with it!
