What are some good tips for taking my driver's license road test (Georgia)?

Here are 6 things that are covered on the Georgia road test you should know:Parallel Parking: You've practiced this a lot. You can do it Backing: Back your car slowly for about 50 feet, as straight and smoothly as possible. Be sure to actually turn your head and look back (instead of just using your mirror). Pro tip: we see a lot of people get points deducted for not doing this.Stopping for Signs or Traffic Signals: Give the proper hand or brake signal; approach in the proper lane; stop before a pedestrian crosswalk and remain stopped until you can drive safely through.Turnabout: Turn your car in a narrow space using two-, three- or five-point turns.Yielding Right-of-Way: Always yield the right-of-way to pedestrians, motor vehicles, bicyclists or anyone else who moves into the intersection before you.Turning: Be sure to turn into the same side lane you're turning from (ie: if you start your turn in the left-hand lane, you must turn into the left-hand lane)There are more tips on this Ultimate Guide to Passing your Georgia Road TestHope this helps and good luck!

Any tips for driving test?

Yes.

Big thing. When the instructor sez "Stop" STOP THE CAR!!!!! They will do this on a straightaway if it's on a course, or on a slow street. They are testing reaction time. My father told me this little trick, and I swear by it because they really do test you.

#1 - Buckle up.
#2 - Check Mirrors
#3 - Check gear *Park or Neutral depending on Auto or Manual*
#4 - Start Car
#5 - Hand at 10 and 2 - eyes ahead, and wait for instructions.

Stay calm, don't do small talk because they will mark it as a distration by the driver. Just listin to instructions and the test will go by quick.

DON'T LET THEM TRICK YOU INTO DOING ILLEGAL MOVES - Some instructors may try and have you drive illegal, like switching lanes in a intersection. Don't do it. Obey the law first, then the instructors immediately after that.

Good Luck.

Any tips for the driving test in Faribault, MN?

I'm going to be taking my first driving test in Faribault, MN in a few hours. I heard that a lot of people fail at this one point. I think it's when the driving instructor tells you to turn left of something. Any advice for that as well? Can you give me instructons for that?

Hey - TIPS FOR ROAD TEST??

Do you know where you lost points? If so, have your parent go with you on several drives to practice those areas. For example, if it was parallel parking that caused a problem, drive around and parallel park multiple times until you can do it easily.

Also, make sure you come to a full and complete stop at all stop signs, stopping before the front end of you car passes the stop sign. Watch your speed limit, turn signals, etc.

I would suggest going back to the area where you did your driving test, with your parent, and drive the route several times. This will get you more comfortable with the area that is used for your driving test so that you will be better prepared next time. (Most driving examiners use the same areas for most of their road tests, so chances are, if you get the same examiner, you will be driving the same or a very similar route.)

You just need to practice, and then, when you are on your road test, relax and be confident in your abilities.

What are some good tips for passing a driving test on the first time?

I love cars and love driving and knew the correct driving procedures well before I began my formal driving lessons. And even though I knew these I failed my driving exam twice. Why? Because being a safe driver doesn’t guarantee that you will pass, as the examiner doesn’t look for safe driving instead he looks for perfect “book-like driving”.To be able to meet these requirements what you must do is talk to your driving instructor and ask for all his stupid tips and tricks that nobody really uses in the real world but that are required for the exam. Once you know and apply these the chace of passing will be higher.Furthermore, ensure that you are calm and concentrated once you are in the car. Remember you are in no rush and the examiner will not rush you, so think about everything you will do before actually doing it. If you are the nervous type take your time getting into the car and adjusting your seat and mirrors. That way the examiner can see that you are not an impulsive driver and can prepare correctly for a drive. This will convey both preparation and concentration.During the exam think about everything before you do it. Don't do things in a hurry, if you miss an exit or a direction given by the examiner simply skip it. There is no problem with turning aroung when you can, there is a problem with cutting across a lane or doing something irresponsible.Driving is full of variable's and even though you can do much as to prepare for an exam these variables and uncertainties will always be there. So remember, look and think before doing anything and drive in a predictive manner (looking at the traffic patterns and anticipating what the vehicles will or could do before they do it).

Tips please, taking my driver's test today and its raining!?

Edit - what you should do.

Exaggerate head turns when looking for cars, into mirrors, anything besides right in front of you. Make sure your head turns.

Dont talk
Dont make unecessary stops
obey traffic signs
make sure you come to a complete stop BEFORE the stop sign
Make sure you can control the car, in other words stay calm and dont jerk the car around
Wear safetybelts
If you do not hear the person say where to go, ask them again
Stay in the same lane unless they tell you to switch
When you are in the car, wait for them to tell you when to start.

Things they make you do -

They only tell you where to drive. My parallel was in the beggining of the test. Now you dont have to pass that part of the test, but you MUST at least try or you will fail the whole test. So even if you hit the cones you can still pass the overall test.

They strongly urge for you to exaggerate head turns.

I took mine at the begining of the month. All i can say is before you go, make sure u have the insurance documents for the car (even if your not on it) and make sure all the lights and horn works. Stay 5mph below the speed limit, just incase you have a heavy foot like me without realizing it. Dont make unnecessary stops. When doing parrallel parking dont ask "did i hit it?" Take it slow and you'll be fine.

As for the rain, just make sure the wipers work! Also, they will probably now be judging how you drive in hazerdous conditions. You will be going on the highway as well as through the neighborhood so adjust your speed accordingly for weather conditions. They will not talk, only to tell you where to turn ahead of time, and you shouldnt talk to them. Pretend you are the only person in the car, and make sure you EXTREMELY EXAGGERATE looking for other cars.

Good luck!
