Driving With My Drivers Ed Teacher Today

Did driving school really teach you how to drive?

This is a question that several ask especially when they have learned the skills from their parents, siblings or friends and feel that enrolling in a driving school is a complete waste of time. Little do they know that the lessons that are taught at the driving schools are something more that what people learn otherwise. Right from practical training to theoretical lessons, there is a lot that goes into making a person a skilled driver. Here is how the driving school is beneficial for you as compared to learning it from other places.• You get to learn from the best faculty – Driving a car is no cakewalk, and there is the need for you to learn it in the best possible way. The faculty at driving schools are known to be patient with their students while teaching them the skills in a manner suitable for the learner. The schools are known to help out with one to one learning services where a student gets to move out with the trainer and learn the skills accordingly.• You get to sit in the driver’s seat – When learning how to drive from parents or probably siblings, there is always this fear of getting the car damaged when a learner handles the steering. You are always expected to sit beside the driver and learn it. How can you know what it takes to drive unless you hold the wheels for yourself? At driving schools, the trainers allow you to take control of the wheel and get acquainted with the feeling of controlling the car all by yourself.• You receive your license easily – When you flash a certificate of driving from a reputed driving school, the process involved in receiving the license would be easy and effortless. Along with that, when you opt for insurance plans for your car, you get to receive discounts given the fact that you are an accomplished driving coming from an accredited driving school.

I didn t take drivers ed and my parents won t teach me how to drive until I m 18 (when i get my permit?)?

You didn't say where you are so we can't check how things work there, but generally speaking, in most places, you have to get a learner's permit no matter what age you are if you have never had a driver's licence. In other words, your friends probably don't know what they're talking about. Yes, it's true that your parents can't teach you to drive without a learner's permit. Neither can anyone else, at least not on public roads.
I don't know how you can convince your parents to teach you before you are 18, which is only a few months away anyway. It's their choice, for reasons we can't guess at. Getting professional instruction is a better choice anyway. You can pay for that, once you are 18.

My drivers ed teacher is mean to me?

So let me explain a few things first- I live in NY, and the driver's license age here is 17. I turned 17 on june 18, and was in drivers ed since late january. (I should've finished a few weeks ago but my teacher constantly canceled classes). You need to finish drivers ed to schedule your road test in NY (unless youre 18+) so I need to finish, because usually your road test date is 2 months from when you schedule it.
Unfortunately, I'm not the best driver. I'm not bad necessarily, I'd say I'm alright, but not great. This is when I drive with my mom or dad, because I'm not nervous. My drivers ed teacher, however, makes me extremely nervous and so I screw up and he's mean to me. When he does this I just have no idea what to do and I want to cry. I know he's supposed to point out my mistakes so I can get better but he doesn't teach me how to fix them, he just makes fun of me in front of the other students.
How should I handle this? Thanks!

I'm scared to start driving with the driver instructor...?

Today i just learn how to drive and some idiots keep honking at me so i drive at about 20 mph lol

I am starting drivers ed today and my parents won't let me practice driving at all...?

My mom is definitely not going to let me so what am I supposed to do? Wait until I'm driving with the teacher and then make a fool of myself??? My mom said hopefully I fail drivers ed. & its not a matter of me growing up or anything its just that she doesn't want to pay for me driving and does not feel safe letting me practice. Ugh:/

What do you think about schools teaching Drivers Ed for free?

Do we want more accidents, or not? In the 80s my dad took drivers ed and defensive driving as a required course and an elective. He literally has never been in an accident unless he was in the passenger seat. When I was in high school my parents paid over $300 for drivers ed, and could not afford another $350 for a defensive driving course. I've had 2 accidents that I've caused and 1 that I could have avoided.Offering these courses on a wide scale would affect everyone for the better regardless of income (because we all share the streets).

Are driver’s ed teachers agitated when someone is not a good driver?

No… that’s a Driver Instructor’s job… to turn a bad driver into a safe, defensive, respectful vehicle operator. What’s frustrating is teaching a bad or dangerous driver that insists they’re safe, or legally requiring to pass someone that technically passed their road test but is a death machine. Morals and ethics cannot always be used to deny a licence… for example someone that didn’ t do anything “dangerous” but got 39 out of 40 demerits. THAT is frustrating.

In the US, does driver training still teach hand signals?

A few years ago, I was driving home from work in the late evening. It was dark, cold and raining. My turn signals were broken, so I didn’t signal when I changed lanes to pass.I got pulled over by the Washington State Patrol for incorrect signaling. The trooper told me they were doing an emphasis patrol on agressive drivers, and one of the signs was not using a turn signal and many lane changes (I passed on the left and then returned to the center lane. That’s what you’re SUPPOSED to do, but I didn’t argue with her.She asked my why I didn’t signal, and I told her the turn signals were broken. I showed her the missing turn signal lever. She said “Then you should roll your window down and stick your arm out the window. Be careful, sir” and left.I thought, but didn’t say “It’s the middle of the night, cold, and wet. If I DID stick my arm out the window, nobody would be able to see it. No way, Jose.” Arm signals on the freeway? Give me a break.Did I do what she said? No. I chose to not change lanes anymore, until I got out of her State Patrol area (I do emergency communications and know where they all work from). That way she wouldn’t give me a ticket for not doing what she said. I’m not stupid. To the question, I can’t say yes or no, but they PROBABLY do, because it’s still a rule, listed in the state study guide.

Embarrassing driver's ed stories?

Today was my first time driving and I did so badly. I was so focused on trying not to make such sharp turns that my teacher had to keep reminding me to stay to the right. And I almost ran into a curb. This was all in one hour. :/ I really hope I'll get better.
Anyway, does anyone have any stories?
