Drop My Phone In Water

What should you do when you drop your phone in water?

Yesterday my mobile (Moto G2 ) fell into full bucket of hot water. This question aroused after this happened to me and now I’m writing this answer through my mobile only! (which is working in same condition it was before ) . so how did happened !!. So ,if your mobile fall into water , first thing first , immediately switch it off .if you can take its battery out, so do so ,otherwise in my case , I wasn’t able to take the battery out so switch it off immediately as the water penetrated into the phone can short-circuit the component if the phone is on and current is flowing inside it .now place your phone into a drying agent , the most common drying agent (soaking agent ) available with all of us is dry rice or uncooked rice . place your mobile covered into rice for 24 or more hours as dry rice are good absorbing agents as they absorb whatever moisture left inside your phone . You can also use silica gel to dry your phone .Precaution - never blow dry your phone with blow dryer or heater as they can fry components of your phone . Don’t do such silly mistake .After 24 or more Hrs you can switch on your phone and I’am definitely sure you can use your phone as it was before .Why your phone is not working after all this - this is because your phone was in water for more time ,this let the water penetrated deep into the phone; it was not possible to absorb the moisture after all this remedy also. What should you do even if your phone is not working now also - immediately rush to the nearest mobile service store :)#underoot41

Dropped my phone in water?

Okay yesterday i dropped my phone in the bath tub but it was only like four inches tops of water music was playing while it did and i immediately picked it up when it dropped. When I did i dried it off with toilet paper and nothing was wrong with it . Later on in the day the touch screen stopped working but I cut my phone off a couple of times and then it was fine. Then I was listening to music and it suddenly stopped and when I looked at my phone it said it had headphones in but it didn't. It was ob and off like that alll day. When I had my headphones in I could hear from my headphones. So I just went to bed and thwn I woke up about six this morning i put my headphones in and the music was turning the volume down its self so i just took the battery out my phone and put it in some rice and didnt take it out since then. How long do I leave it in there also? And do you know what makes the volume and headphone thing happen?

So then I got out and took off the case took the battery and SIM card and toweled dryed it then used a hair dryer on low cool for about 3 mins then turned it on and it still was wavy i thought maybe if i left it alone for 5 hours. I dropped my phone in water!!?

I dropped my Motorola in the toilet for like two seconds. Everything seems to be fine and I completely dried it. My question is, if any damage is done, will it happen immediately, or can something happen tomorrow morning that isn't happening now? (By something I mean damage to the phone). It works perfectly, so is nothing wrong or will there be delayed effects?

I dropped my phone charger end in water?

Becareful- because if it's still damp you could get a electrical shock. It's happened to people. my step-son would aciddently drop his in water and got a shock.

give it about a week until then see if you can use someone else's charger

or buy another one- it's good to have a second on hand just in case it ever happens again

I dropped my iPhone in water. What can I say or do to an Apple Store genius to have them replace my phone for free, assuming the warranty is void?

The easiest thing to say is:“Here is the $199 replacement/repair fee, that I give you ‘for free’, and you please give me a replacement iPhone ‘for free’ in exchange?”There is no magical social engineering technique that works on Apple Store employees to get them to replace iPhones, except maybe having an Apple badge and wearing it to the store. Even then, you should just take it to OnSite, instead of a store. The problem is going to be the chemical water indicators, and there are two external (one in the headphone jack, one in the docking port), and several internal. The first thing they will try, if you do not indicate water damage, is a “battery detach” fix. Meaning they open the thing up in the back of the store, and the internal damage sensors are obvious at that point. So even chemical hacks on the phase change water sensors will not fix things, unless you opened it up and hacked them, too.Hey! Finally a benefit to getting rid of the headphone jack! One less place water gets in, one less water damage indicator! In general, if your iPhone dies by drowning, it’s your fault, and you should not be trying to BS a coroner that it was suicide.Typically, I get AppleCare+ on the thing; it’s $50 out of pocket if it dies, even if you hold its head under water until it stops squirming.Be aware that more recent iPhones, hacking the chemical indicators is not enough, you also have electronics that will rat you out, if you murder an iPhone in a toilet. All that said: there is a code in the system for “customer’s fault, replaced it anyway”; as far a I know, an employee who uses it “too much” gets terminated. So even if you can look really poor/sad, bring a kid, or show a lot of cleavage (or whatever the particular employee likes to see), you are likely putting their job at risk, if you’re successful.Think twice, and maybe get AppleCare+ next time.

Dropped phone in water, have no rice, what should I do?

You should have never turned that phone on for whatever reason. Let it dry first. Probably too late now. Take out the battery and everything you can. Lay it on a towel and give a day or two to dry. Being impatient here will not help you.
