It is possibly an irreparable LCD. You could be lucky and one of the LCD connectors have partially disconnected and you are only seeing the BackLight. Depending on phone type you may be able to disassemble it, disconnect the LCD plugs properly, and reconnect them again, of course while the phone is off and the battery removed in case of shorting with your tools.If you have had the screen replaced before the ribbon/flex cable may be inferior and unable to have sustained the impact. There is also the chance that the impact progressed an already existing micro-tear on the flex-cable which would usually be seen at a bend (inside corner).There are many websites with tear downs of all phones.

Hello, that is the LCD that is broken. Which is the screen underneath the top glass of the iPhone. The same thing happened to me. Since there were no Apple stores near me I just called them and told them that the screen was distorted and that there were lines going across the screen. Otherwise if you live near an Apple store make an appointment at the Genius Bar and get a replacement. Hope this helps.

hi..we got this all in one computer on blk friday...so its not too old. i tipped the screen foward and it hit the end something pointy...now the outside is not damaged...but the inside of computer...looking at the screen some of the pic is white...it looks like the screen cracked. a little star shape on top and then lost of pic the whole way down coming from star like crack...is this fixable..computer still runs and can still see the rest of picture..affected area is 2 inches wide and all the way down to bottom..i dont know if it is lcd or led? or crystal? if this is fixable? can my husband fix? what steps? where to get parts? what is the cost difference between we fix or computer store?..we dont hav alot of money after housefire. thank u for your help and details appreciated... :)

Hopefully your within the 30 day-1 year warranty. You need a professional replacement of the screen. If its over 1 year, it may be more cost effective to buy a new laptop. (this depends on how much you spent). You should never spend over 1/4 what you payed for the laptop in repairs, for the life of the laptop.

well your lucky you didnt drop it while it was running or if u did do it while it was running your lucky you didnt crash the hard drive. the monitor is probably trashed and needs to be replaced. there are lamps inside an lcd screen that are really kind of fragile... take it to a computer technition and they might be able to replace it for you... it wont be cheap
