Dropped my eyeliner in the toilet. Can I still use it?
I had just used the bathroom and when I turned around to flush the toilet, I knocked my eyeliner in the toilet (before I flushed it). The outside was wet, obviously, but the eyeliner has a pretty tight cap on it, which was on. I took the cap off and the actual product didn't seem to be wet but should I throw it away or can I still use it?
So I dropped my bare minerals makeup brush in the toilet....?
Boiling it would actually loosen the glue that keeps the hairs in the brush, not the hairs themselves. If you want to disinfect it really well you should use alcohol. Wash it really well first, then spray it with alcohol. Honestly, I would just get another brush because if the whole thing fell in the toilet and got wet, it's going to be REALLY hard to get all the way in there and disinfect the whole thing. I’d provide step by step instruction but I wouldn’t do anything. It’s her pistol .On the other hand, this happens sometimes.Flush the toilet several times. The gun isn’t going anywhere.Carefully grasping only the grip, remove it from the water; while insuring the muzzle is pointing down in a safe direction, drop the magazine and rack the slide to remove the chambered round. If a revolver, swing the cylinder out and unload.Then lay it on a bed of paper towels , let the water drain out.Wipe it off with more paper towels, then wrap with clean dry paper towels. Transport home.After arriving home, submerge the pistol in a pan of Clorox bleach for 10 minutes, then rinse with clear water , swished around.Disassemble the pistol and the dry it by blowing it with a hair dryer. Lubricate and reassemble and return to normal operation.Advise her to Get a decent holster for her purse-a purse holster so it’s not flopping around loose with the makeup kit. Best for purse Carry is a “Pistol purse” with a dedicated holster compartment.
I just dropped my wife's makeup bag in the toilet, will the makeup be ok when it dries, it is mostly blush, eye stuff and lipstick?
NO! NO! NO!!! The reason I’m shouting is that this is a terrible thing to do! That makeup—that fell in the toilet(!) is stuff your wife is going to be putting on her bare facial skin, on her mouth, in her eyes! It is full of germs, at the very least she could break out from something that got in the makeup. She could be scarred for life, or go blind or any number of horrible things. It doesn’t matter how much the crap cost, throw it out and let her buy new—CLEAN—makeup that hasn’t been swimming in the toilet.
I dropped my mascara down the toilet; do I absolutely need to call a plumber?
I dropped my mascara down the toilet about a week ago (there's a cabinet above the toilet where I keep my makeup bag. my mascara fell out of it and into the toilet while I was grabbing it). The toilet was not in the process of flushing when the mascara fell in. However, as soon as it hit the water it shot down the hole and disappeared from my sight. I tried to fish the mascara out (first with some wire, then reluctantly with my hand) but I couldn't find it. My next thought was that maybe I could somehow plunge it out. That of course did not work either...Anyway, I never did call a plumber and people have been successfully using that toilet for the past week. Although the toilet has been acting perfectly normal, I'm still a bit worried about it. My friend has told me that if I haven't had a problem yet then it probably just passed through. That's what I'd like to think, but I just can't see how a tube of Maybelline great lash mascara could go down a toilet and not get stuck... Do you think it will be okay, or should I call a plumber to have it checked out.
My eye shadow/lip gloss fell in the toilet. Should I still use it?
It depends if the container was open or closed. If it was open, do not use it. If it was closed, it would be okay to use it, but if I were you I would still throw it out. If it's really expensive make-up though, you should use it. Also, if the toilet had "stuff" in it, do not use it. If it was just water, you should be fine. And, as other people pointed out, there is still germs in the water. Be very careful with the eyeshadow, your eye could get infected. Be careful with the lip gloss, too. If I were you, I would throw everything out.
What to do after makeup brushes fell in the toilet?!?
I assume the toilet was flushed at the time? In that case, if the toilet was clean, then you really don't have a problem. Yes, there will be germs, but germs are everywhere, Clean everything with plain soap and water, rinse well and let them dry. Rubbing alcohol is WAY too strong to be using on make up brushes. If you are really worried, get some Milton or something similar, like they use for sterilizing babies bottles,
If you drop closed mascara in the toilet, can you boil it clean and keep it?
Yes, I recovered it, I had to because my little one threw the whole make-up bag in the toilet. I threw everything else away, I was just wondering about the mascara. Thanks for the remarks, I'll throw it away!
