What are some good Dance Universities?

There are so many good college dance programs that focus on modern dance that you really should get hold of the print edition of the "Dance Magazine College Guide."
http://dancemedia.k-online.biz/cgi-bin/C...
It is actually a separate publication from the regular magazine issues.

While you wait for your guide to arrive, you can also try out Dance Magazine's online search tool, which includes settings for sorting by "audition required" and "tuition."

Since modern dance is the specialty of most college dance programs, the key will be in finding the program that is right for YOU. My daughter, a graduate of a college dance program, has a friend who's at Juilliard right now who is not happy there. Just because it's world famous doesn't mean that it's right for you.

I answer extensively about how to search for the "right" college dance program, so I hope you'll check out some of my other answers. But a key bit of advice I always give is to start visiting as many college dance programs as you can, even those that are near you that you're not really considering. You need to get a sense of the variables of a program that you find desirable or undesirable. Attend their concerts, talk to actual dance majors (not just someone who knows someone...), and, most of all, talk to well-respected dance teachers and ask THEIR advice. The advice at College Confidential is inconsistent and unreliable.

How possible is it to work in the US and not drive a car? Are there people who do this?

Me.I moved to the United States in 2011. Never bought a car.I don't even have an American Driver's license. While I was a student in San Francisco, I'd walk 2 miles to school. Traversing the hilly terrain with a Starbucks cup in one hand, a cigarette in the other.. listening to music.. I loved it.Then I got a job. Fortunately biking is considered "cool" in San Francisco. I'd bike or walk or taxi down if I was ever late. Then I moved to Chicago last year. I knew this was gonna be a challenge as I was very unfamiliar with snow and icy roads. I fortunately got a great apartment that is 400 feet from my office. I'm not exaggerating. It is 400 ft. Yes, I end up paying more on rent. But of course that difference is more than compensated in Car payments, Fuel, Parking, Insurance, maintenance and repairs etc.I intend to be car-less for as long as I can. It is a wonderfully liberating experience.. Especially when you want to have fun on a weekend. No need to circle the blocks of popular neighborhoods looking for parking, no need to have a designated driver at the end of the night.. it is just so convenient. If at all I do need a car I can always rent one.----Edit: Confession! In 2012 I quit a great job in Raleigh-Durham, NC in 3 days as I was overwhelmed by the lack of public transit/ taxis. I was aghast to know that the only way I could get a taxi was to order one from the Airport lot. They charged a flat $25 fee for a 2.6 mile drive. I just flew back to sunny California. Ain't nobody got time for that!

Which US cities are the safest?

The Homesecurity.com claims that south Dakota, New York, North Dakota, New Hampshire, New Jersey and Idaho are top 6 safest cities of America. They have provided this result on the basis of data collected from State Law Enforcement Agencies, the FBI and other resources.

Is it better to earn 90k in North Carolina or 110k in California?

For me that decision is easy, North Carolina. The reasons:- Short commutes (come home for lunch if I choose)- Housing cost and availability (live in the area where you want to live without a soul crushing mortgage/rent payment every month)- People, but not crowded- Mild short winters, long springs, long autumns, (but hot in July & August)- Variety of terrains (mountains to sandy beaches, but no deserts)- Plenty of water (if we can keep the coal waste out of it)- Low crime rate- Mellow, friendly people (Outsiders may say slow; as a former Yankee, I disagree.)- Good economyOf course no place is perfect, but in North Carolina the good far outweighs the bad.

Can one buy Megabus tickets at the site of where the Megabus buses depart?

Since some of the answers on here are a bit outdated, I’ll add some relevant information here. You can buy your tickets moments before departure if the both of these two statements are true:You are boarding at a staffed bus stop. Megabus has a few intermediate stops where the bus operator only does pre-purchase ticket validation. There are empty seats. Many early morning and Friday afternoon trips will be at capacity.Short of the long here is, buy your tickets in advance—you’ll save money in the long run and you can even reserve a specific seat.
