Why is the DVD player of my Toshiba laptop not working? How can I fix it?
Dvd player is the most susceptible to breakage components, buy a new one ( $40), remove the screw holding the drive on the back, extract it, place the new one.I don't fix my players, i use an external drive.( €35)

TSSTcorp DVD/RW device not working?
i purchased my dell comp. year ago with device already installed.. was working in march last i remember? don't use it alot, but now that i try to go and use it it says windows cannot load the device the drive is either corrupted or missing code #39.. i've tried everything i know to do and nothing works; i've tried updating the drive and nothing.. i have the cd sent with the new computer but since the drive isn't working i can't load any cd? .. someone help.

It looks like you have a CD writer that can only read DVD discs. Are you sure it's a DVD writer as well? I doubt it.
Optiarc DVD RW AD-7580S, Recognised but not loading any disc's?
Does anyone know how to get the Optiarc DVD RW AD-7580S Drive working? I have Acer's SuperMultiDrive model no. ESW860. But the drive is recognised as this in device manager: Optiarc DVD RW AD-7580S USB Device. Everytime, I insert a CD or DVD, it would eject and close from the desktop but will not read discs. Thanks Also it shows up in DVD/CD-ROM Drive tree but still no go?

I was trying to install a Program on my computer today, and here is what happened. No auto-play popped up, like usual, so I went into "my computer" to manually install it, but when I clicked my DVD RW drive, it said "please insert a disk." My disk was already in it, correctly. So I went to trouble shoot, and it said that the device is working fine. I tried my CD again.Same thing happened. So I went into properties > tools > error-checking > check now. This popped up : "The disk check could not be performed because Windows cannot access the disk." If you know how to help me, or some websites that could, it would be GREATLY appreciated.

Now this sound like you CD rom drive is telling you to clean disk that normally the issue when it comes to it not wanting to read. sometime it the drive it self and they sell the cleaning disks for less then $10.00 so try that. If that don't work that mean the disk pass 29 and defected. sometimes trying them on another device helps to deside what going on. But if it works in DVD play on tv should works on computer so should only have to clean disk and and CDR/DVD player on computer.
