Dxtory recording frame rate?

Have you tried changing settings around? For separate games come separate settings, so you should try lowering the recording resolution or quality.

To do this with dxtory just go to the "movie" tab, go down to "scaling"(bottom right) and set to 50% or even put a specific resolution by selecting "size" instead of "percent".

If you don't want to change the resolution, you can change the quality by going into the codec section, editing the config, and change the "mode" to something lower like YUV420 (for default dxtory codec).

Recording mount & Blade with FRAPS.?

So when i hit record when plying mount and blade the frame rate drops to about 9 FPS from about 75. I have tried turing off various options like v sync and changing how many FPS fraps records at but it still drops to 9FPS. Whats the deal with that?

Please don't tell me my computer is not powerfull enough because it is, when i record fallout 3 the frame rate drop i barly noticable.

Well, I've got FRAPS, a quad core CPU @3,0GHz, 2 HDD's and a HD4850.
A great setup which runs Bad Company 2 totally maxed out with great frame rates. (50+).

Now to the point:
I have FRAPS, frame rate locked @ 40 FPS.
I start recording, and it runs very smooth at 40 FPS constant. But after a couple minutes of recording the frame rate suddenly drops to 10 FPS and it becomes unplayable.

How is this possible and what causes this; has anyone got a fix?

Dxtory shows black screen while streaming?

I am trying to stream with dxtory. I set it all up, directshow output checked, etc, but xsplit, flash media encoder, etc all show a blank black screen after pressing the hotkey. In-game, when I press the hotkey, nothing happens. The framerate numbers also still stay green and does not turn orange. File Output unchecked, DirectShow Output checked.

Tried this in Portal 2, Battlefield 3, and Alliance of Valiant Arms.

Do you know a game recorder that doesn't slows down the frame rate?

Best way to record PC games?

I used to be in the same boat as you. I was an AVID WoW player. I had a priest that I played better than most and wanted to broadcast that to everyone that I could, so I searched for something that I could record the game with, but for free.

The only issue is that you aren't going to find anything that is like that. So I sucked it up and purchased a license to FRAPS. Fraps has been an awesome software recording tool. I highly recommend it.

The only other way to record your game play would be to go and buy an external cam. That can come with a hefty price tag. Not only that but there's also an issue of quality. I have had extremely awesome quality with fraps and it barely takes any frames away from me. My laptop is high low-end grade at best. (High of the low end grade laptops)

Lastly, Fraps offers a free trial download. It gives you a frame rate counter at any corner of the screen that you want. You can put the file in any area of your hard drive you want. Its a wonderful program and I highly recommend it!
