Ear Ache In My Left Ear And Can

What side to sleep on with ear ache?

so this morning i woke up with a terrible earache. My right ear feels completely clogged, i can barely hear. It painfully pops from time to time. It is only my right ear that has this ear ache though. I went to the doc and he said my canal looked a bit swollen And prescribed some antibiotics. The antibiotics will help, but what can i do for the pain? ive already taken ibuprofen without results. What else can i do? also, what side should i sleep on? if i sleep on the aching ear will it just make the pressure worse? thAnks

How can I cure my ear ache?

j mo is incorrect....benadryl will make it worst by removing fluids making mucous thicker. Lady right on.... Here are some other thoughts....L ear pain one of two things: 1st Otitis Media or Externa (ear infection) can happen as secondary infection.

2nd referred pain from either sinus or throat. remember their is a tube that connects ear to thoat. Agree with decongestants also try mucolytics (muconex or guianefessin). Because of dumb people (meth labs) it is harder to get phenyledprine (but it works better....give up your ID and get it)

Either way these infections? go away without antibiotics although if you starting having a fever > 101 f. Bite the bullet and see a doc. hope this helps

ps I am a horrible speller so please forgive.

Left ear hurts when I yawn or chew food.?

You are having trouble with the muscles that operate your jaw and they need to be released to get rid of your problem. Here is how to release those muscles:
With your fingers on your head, drop your thumbs behind your ears. Place them next to the skull and onto the back of the jawbone and press onto the jaw and hold that pressure. Relax. After 30 seconds, slowly look up and when your neck is fully extended open your mouth all the way. Now release the pressure but hold your head and mouth like that for another minute.

What can be the cause of pain in my left ear?

Maybe a spider entered your ear and now laying eggs inside. So expect to have superhuman power and wall crawling skills in a few days. But always remember great power comes great responsibilities. So if you don’t like responsibilities, then go see a doctor.

Why does my left ear hurt when I take a drink?

ooh, i hate to say this but i just put out a question, about handling pain. Do u have a cold??? Cause it could be a sinus infection. Can u hear?? Cause this is what happened to me, my ear drum ruptured.Try tugging on it, because it could be swimmers ear. Or possibly an ear infection

Hope u get better!

My throat and my left ear hurts when i swallow?

Its probably an ear infection, you should see your doc for some ear drops. The drops should work quickly.
I hope this helps and I hope you feel better.

ps. I don't think that SpongeBob is gay, and even if he was it would not really bother me.

What causes an ear to hurt after sleeping on it?

What causes an ear to hurt after sleeping on it?I have had the same issue of my ear hurting after I wake up from my sleep. Today I will discuss:Why it happensHow it can be solvedTo be honest, you may/may not be surprised with many of the things I will say today. Why does ear pain happen after waking up from sleep? If you have a look at the below image (Fig. 1), you can see an anatomical diagram of an ear.Fig. 1; Anatomy of the ear. [Image credits: WiseGeek]The above image might look quite complicated to some people, but the main thing I want to focus on today is solely one part of the ear. This part is located in the “outer ear” section and is called the Cartilage. The cartilage is the muscle that is responsible for the shape of your ear. For the more scientific people out there below is a small excerpt from Health Line regarding the Cartilage:“The cartilage is flexible, connective tissue, sometimes referred to as gristle. This type of cartilage is known as elastic cartilage. It contains no nerve cells or blood vessels, and is semi-opaque (somewhat see-through).” [1]If the ear did not have cartilage, it would be all floppy and jiggly…not a pretty sight.Generally, when you sleep on your sides, you are compressing your ear against the pillow or bed in which you sleep. When you sleep like this, your cartilage in your ear gets compressed. This will cause a lot of pain. However, theoretically, this will not affect your hearing. [2]How do I stop my ears from hurting after I wake up?There can be two solutions:Using Sean Dean’s idea of trying a softer pillow could help greatly. Subsequently, build on this idea, you could also try a softer bed.Trying to consciously change your sleep position, so that you do not end up sleeping on your ears.Thats all the knowledge I could conjure about this topic.Best of luck,Shreyas ParidaFootnotes[1] Auricular Cartilage Anatomy, Function & Diagram | Body Maps[2] "Why does my ear hurt when I wake up in the morning?"

Why do I feel pain in my left ear during/after sneezing?

The reason you have pain in your left ear is most likely because the eustachian tube is at least partially blocked. That tube connects your inner ear with the back of the throat, and allows you to equalize pressure in the ear as needed. Normally when you sneeze, the excess pressure will cause the eardrum to move a bit, and the extra pressure is spent out the other end of the tube. When you have a cold or nose trouble, especially when you have a stuffy nose, it can be blocked partially or completely. I imagine you feel kind of like you are underwater, listening? The pain is caused by excess pressure that can't be relieved as quickly as it needs to be, and it's causing the ear drum to expand a little more than it cares to or can. It slowly goes away because some air is able to pass through the tube. You can try an over the counter decongestant medicine if you like, to help get things clear and running. Since you had a viral infection, you may well have an ear infection as well- but as it's viral, antibiotics aren't much help. As long as you are not having any other problems, time and decongestants are your best bets actually. However, if you run fever, or if the pain becomes steady, or if you start feeling like your whole head is underwater, then it's a good time to see the doctor. There is one last thing you can try to see if you can hasten the clearing, which is called a valsalva maneuver. If you have ever "popped" your eardrums, that's what it is. You can do it by holding your nose and mouth shut, and gently trying to blow the nose. Key word there is gently. The first few times, you may not be able to feel the drum pop, and you should not blow hard or continue to blow if it starts to hurt. Eventually though, it will help to clear that eustachian tube, and you will feel the drum pop quite quickly. Until then, if you have pain in the ear, you will also feel some ease if you apply a moist hot cloth to the ear, to cover the outer ear and just below the joint where your jaw joins your face. The eustachian tube for the ear lies just along that line, from ear to throat.
