Eat Piercings And Cleaning

Should I remove my earring to clean my new piercing?

No, you should not. New piercings can close up extremely quickly. By the time you finish cleaning the piercings, you may find that the jewelry is impossible to put back in.I'm not a professional but from personal experience I'd recommend not removing the earrings at all for at least a month, if they're ear lobe piercings. At that point it should be safe to leave them out for short periods of time. However, do not do this very often as it is still a new piercings and this could irritate it.

Cleaning ear piercings - Q-tip or cottonball?

I got my ears pierced at Claire's yesterday, and the lady told me to use a cotton ball with the antiseptic cleaner 3 times a day. I did it last night and one time today. I was wondering if i should use a Q-tip to put the stuff around it and on the back with. It is much easier for me, does it matter at all?\

thank you to whoever replies!

How can I make my own piercing cleaning solution?

There's nothing wrong with trying to save money, good on you for doing so! Home-made solutions are usually better for your piercing anyway, if they've been made properly. Peroxide, alcohol and soap are not things that you should use on a fresh piercing...these things will dry it out and kill good bacteria as well as bad.

Just mix up about 1/3tsp of sea salt (don't use table salt..) to 1 cup of boiled water. Let the water cool til it's warm, stir it up to dissolve the salt and then use a cotton ball to soak the piercing for 5-10 minutes twice a day. This really is all most piercings need as far as cleaning goes. The piercing studio where I go actually sells little satchets of sea salt. You get a free satchet with every piercing. Sea salt is fantastic for piercings and any flesh wound...my Dad used to take our horses down to the beach whenever they got cut and it was like magic how well they healed. You can also get an aloe vera plant...if you cut off a bit and slice it open there is sticky green fluid that can be applied directly onto wounds and piercings. This is just good for healing :)

Can I clean my ear piercings with hydrogen peroxide?

While you can do it, unless you are into sharp pains, I wouldn't do it. Your piercer should have tried to sell you a spray bottle of antiseptic liquid. However, if you prefer the DIY way, mixing a teaspoon of rock sea salt with a bottle of water and dab some q-tip on it then on your piercing, it should be enough.

Six Weeks after Ear Piercing, do I still need to clean my ears?

After 6 weeks you do not need to clean your ears 2 or 3 times a day, but I would continue cleaning them once a day with the antiseptic solution until you use it all. After that you should wipe your lobes with rubbing alcohol every time you change your earrings until your ears have been pierced for six months. Also clean the posts or wires on your earrings with alcohol before you put them in your ears.

After your ears have been pierced for six months normal washing of your face should be enough. No matter how lng your ears have been pierced, ALWAYS clean the posts or wires on new earrings with rubbing alcohol before you wear them the first time.

What happens if you run out of the cleaner for your piercing?

There are so many alternatives,no worries. It is okay if the cleaner runs out. They are not really important since there are alot of other methods. The only difference between the methods and the cleaner is the price.

The cleaner you are having is basically a saline solution. So you can replace it with other saline solutions. Google around, you will know what I am talking about. Saline solutions are basically salt solutions. Wound wash solution, eyedrops or even contact lens solution are considered saline. Wound wash solution is basically the safest and the best. You can get them in first aid kits and any pharmacies. Eyedrops are okay too. If you wanna use contact lens saline solution, make sure it is saline with NO ALCOHOLS at all. And do not use the multipurpose contact cleaner solution as well ( It has alcohol and preservative ) . Use only saline one.

You can do your own saline solution. Sea salt soak is what it is called. Google on that and you will get good reviews. Mix 1/8 tablespoon with hot water and let it all dissolve. Do not put too much salt as it will dry out your skin. And do not use table salt, at all, because table salt had iodine and it has a risk of infection ( i had experience with it ). Sea salt is more pure and is better for healing and cleaning fresh puncture wounds like piercing.

You can get sea salt in all grocery and department store and its cheap like table salt. This sea salt soak is the safest, proven to be the best ( prevents infection and cleans bacteria ) and works for everybody. Soak your piercing for five minutes in it. Or use a cotton swab, soak it in the sea salt solution and rub it around your piercing to clean the area. A q-tip is okay too.

Do not use alcohols like hydrogen peroxide or neosprin. They will dry out your skin terribly and cause itch. It does not work for everybody and it is risky because if it does not go along with you, you might develop an infection.

Remember to clean your piercings twice a day ( not more, you will dry out the area ) and avoid touching it with your bare hands as you will be transfering dirt from your hands onto the piercing.

Can I make a homemade ear piercing cleaner?

1/4 tsp sea salt in 8 oz of water. It doesn't need to be warm at all times, it just needs to be warm enough when you first make it so that the salt dissolves. If it's sitting in the bottom of your bottle, then it's not gonna do a whole lot of good to your piercing. You could also buy a sterile saline solution from most drugstores. It's more or less the same thing.

How do I clean a butterfly end ear piercing with salt water?

It’d be better to use the solution any piercer sells at their shop, however, if you want to go the DIY route, a squeeze bottle or a sprayer would be best suited to aiming.Butterfly ends are annoying and they get absurdly dirty with the secretions from your piercing, so I’d recommend as soon as your piercer allows it, to change those earrings for other kinds.

Is it okay to CLEAN my NOSE PIERCING with CLAIRES EAR SOLUTION?

no it isn't, its no good for a lobe piercing so its definitely not any good for a cartilage piercing, the easiest and safest way to clean a nose piercing is SEA salt and hot water, it shouldn't be any saltier than a tear drop, clean twice a day with a q-tip
and remember it actually takes 1 year to fully heal, don't fiddle with it

take care of this piercing as if it gets infected its the most painful thing you've ever had on your face

all the best xxx
