Eating Less Carbs Help With Fat

Do eating less carbs really help you lose weight?

You'd lose weight either way because the bottom line is the calories. However, eating a low carb diet can throw the body into a condition called ketosis, in which the body can begin to use its fat reserves more quickly and in extreme cases can begin to absorb nutrients from its own muscle mass in an attempt to compensate for the lack of carbs in the diet. I've tried it both ways, and I found that a low carb diet can help you lose weight more quickly but you really won't lose much more weight in the long run than you would if you simply cut your caloric intake.

Does eating less carbs help to cut down abdominal fat?

Well to put it in the right perspective being on a caloric deficit will help you to lose weight = to fat / water / muscle massHowever if you want to only lose fat and retain your muscle mass then keep your protein intake high and still the total caloric consumption must be in a deficit. At the end it's the total of caloric consumption that makes you lose weight. Please note that there isn't something called spot reduction or you'll only lose fat at your belly, you lose weight / Fat from all your body. However, different genetics determines where are the most fat is stored  some in their bellies and some in their glutes. So a proper training program and being on a caloric deficit  is a must in order to lose fat / weight.

Should people eat less carbs or less fat?

Imho, less carb. I've seen a documentary looking into whether should we eat less carb or less fats to be healthy. It actually found out that less carb was better for your body as carbs are usually broken down into and stored as reserves or fats in your body if there are sugar you haven't utilized. In other words, you are going to put in extra weight. But if you eat less fats, in the sense where you go for that non-fat milk as compared to the normal milk. There are other chemicals substituting the fats that are naturally occurring in the milk and these chemicals are not necessarily very beneficial for you. Moreover, our body still needs healthy fats like those in your whole milk to function or those in avocado, which seems to be a holy grail for health food.Plus the fastest way to cut fats is to eat less carb as you run down the reserves in your body when you provide it with less sugar. Hope this helps!

Does eating less burn fat?

Eat less doesn't burn fat, exercise burns fat...adding muscle tissue burns fat...eating less just makes it unlikely your body will store what you consume as fat (unless you are eating so little your body is starving and then will store what it can and burn muscle tissue before burning fat tissue)...

Eating less is a key in weight loss but not because that act burns fat, but because it helps prevent your body from storing more fat...the reason we have fat is because we consumed more calories than our body needed, so it stored the extra...if you eat only the amount your body needs, you will maintain your weight...if you eat (consume) less than your body needs or consume more than your body needs but exercise to burn excess plus more, then you will tend to lose weight...

Don't go under 1200 a day, but if you exercise you should consume more...the mere act of being active makes your body need more calories to function, but you can still lose weight...get up around 1400 or 1500 if you are exercising regularly...

As for "much time", that's what you make it...I get up at 4:30am during the work week so I can workout before I go to work...where there's a will, there's a way (to find time to workout)...

Eating healthy vs. eating less calories??

Who will develop fat: the person who eats say, one bowl of sugary cereal for breakfast/an apple/pizza lunch/nacho snacks/hamburger dinner (w/ sugar, fat, high fructose corn syrup, etc), or the person who eats more calories of say oatmeal, cheerios, apples, lean meat, and healthy carbs?

Basically, will you get fat eating "processed" foods or healthy foods, even if you eat a smaller amount of processed foods?

Will my body burn fat if I'm eating 20g of carbs a day, or do I need to be in ketosis?

Your body can and will burn fat regardless of whether you're in a state of nutritional ketosis, as long as you are consistently burning more calories than you are taking in.But if fat loss is your goal, a keto diet will likely get you where you want to go more quickly than any other diet/nutrition plan. Most people will enter the state of nutritional ketosis if they are consistently consuming 20g of net carbs per day. But you don't want to guess at what that that carb number is for you. And you don't have to.The carb limit for getting into a state of nutritional ketosis and staying there depends on your total daily calories, which is based on your age, weight, activity level, sex and weight loss goal, which you can quickly calculate here. From there it’s all about calculating the actual number of grams you need to take in for fat, protein, and carbs following the 75/20/5 keto ratio. And to come up with those number you simply multiply your total daily calorie goal by the percentage for each macro. You then divide each of those numbers by the calories per gram below:Fat = 9 calories per gramProtein = 4 calories per gramCarbs = 4 calories per gramHere's an example of how those macros would break down for the average male and female:Keep in mind that the carb number means net carbs. So when you're reading food labels be sure to subtract the grams of fiber from the grams of total carbs for your net carb number. For more information on following a keto diet, including free 4-week meal plans, visit Keto Diet Plan Explained, Best Ketogenic Diet Foods & Ketosis Diet MenuGood luck!
