Ebola Comment Terrified Me.

I was climbing on a roof at an elementary school, got caught by cops help.?

I was climbing on the roof at a school and after my friends got down it was apparent someone notified the police because when we rounded the corner to the parking lot we saw a police car. I was so terrified that I bolted off under a tunnel and 3 miles away. My friend tried to call me as he was caught, but i turned it off. 10 minutes later I turned on my phone and called him and got Officer Burge of the Winston Salem PD and he told me to disclose my position and to walk back, I finally got there and told him the truth and my dad came and picked me up and was mad. What can I do to settle this between me and my dad. Yes, im white and make straight a's. I just had a horrible lapse of judgement. What can i do and say to my dad?

Cany anyone recommend some good non-fiction novels?

"Non-fiction novels"? By definition, novels are fiction. Perhaps you are referring to novels based on factual events such as biographical or historical novels or accounts of real events that read like novels.

Either way, "The Hot Zone" by Richard Preston wins my highest recommendation. While the author writes in the style of the fictional thriller, "The Hot Zone" is in fact a meticulously accurate account of a terrifying yet real event that happened in Reston, Virginia, USA in 1989. A form of the deadly Ebola virus broke out in a civilian laboratory when a newly arrived monkey bit a lab worker. The Center for Disease Control and a special unit of US Army veterinarians expert in dangerous infections were brought to bear on the rapidly developing crisis. The real heros of the story were Colonel Jerry Jaax and his wife Lieutenant Colonel Nancy Jaax, both experts in the identification and control of the most deadly diseases known to humankind. If ever there was a case in which truth is stranger than fiction, surely this is it.

Will the world end in my lifetime?

Will the world end in my lifetime? I've been having these thoughts that the world is going to end, so I look up things like the Ebola outbreak and the end of the world revelations and it completely terrifies me!

Someone please help? Someone with better or more knowledgeable? I'm 21 and that's why it scares me:( I know that I'm not young but I'm youngish

What is the most absurd thing you've heard someone, with complete seriousness, blame on President Obama?

I love Trevor Noah. Let’s get this out of the way right now, because a) I think we’re pretty much the same person and b) because he’s in the middle of a controversy right now.But goddamn do I love Trevor Noah. And back when Jordan Klepper was on the Daily Show, I loved him too. The way he embraced the crazy he saw in the world, and leaned into it, was brilliant. His biting remarks and sharp wit led him to great interactions with his interviewees, and would almost always make them inadvertently admit to what he was saying. Now, obviously Klepper did most of those pieces as jokes, as a parody of real reporting, but when you start to dig in under the surface, you start to recognize the batshit insanity of some people who were hellbent on blaming everything on Obama.Watch that video. If you can’t watch it, because you live in the Canadian socialist hellhole, buy a VPN and watch it. Find some way to watch it, or just read the transcript of the scene at 3:28.Klepper: And one of the most unbelievable discoveries yet.Red Hat Guy: Barack Obama had a big part of 9/11.K: Which part?RHG: Not being around, always on vacation, never in the office.K: Why do you think Obama wasn’t in the Oval Office on 9/11?RHG: That I don’t know. I’d like to get to the bottom of that.I know. I know very well. I’ll get to the bottom of that real quick-like.Barack Obama was inaugurated on January 20th, 2009, approximately 7 years and 3 months after 9/11.So he wasn’t in the Oval Office, not because he was playing golf, but because he was an Illinois State Senator at the time. Can’t wait for when the swarm of Donald Trump Jr. followers blame the Civil War on Obama and his ancestors for being too uppity.

Process Server stalking/harassment scare?

Talk to the police who can put the fear of God into them. Yes, they have the right to do their job but they don't have the right to harass innocent victims. They are not allowed to bang on your door for 20 minutes and I doubt that they can go to your neighbors either as that is a violation of privacy. They are overstepping what they can do. And they can be sued for oppression.

If you tell me what state you are in, I will see if I can find the state law for you on process servers.

My mom is forcing me to let her be in the room during an obgyn exam?

i'm 18 years old and my mom is threatening me with different things if i don't let her stay in the room during an obgyn exam.
i'm really uncomfortable with that. i've never been to the obgyn before and i'm really nervous anyway. i'm an extremely private person- i don't even let other females see my breasts as i am extremely flat chested and self conscious about it. to have my mom be in the exam room would be the most uncomfortable, humiliating thing of my life and i would feel violated if she forced me to let her stay and watch
she wants to stay because she thinks i'm lying about being a virgin. i've never had intercourse but i've given and received oral and have engaged in anal sex. so i guess i have three questions-
1) is there any way out of this?
2) do you have to completely uncover your breasts during a visit to the gyno?
3) is there a way for the doctor to tell if you're lying about engaging in sexual activity
i've only engaged in sexual activity with one person and i was their first also so i think it's unlikely i have an std. still possible but extremely unlikely. so yes i would be willing to lie about my sexual activity to the doctor for a few years until i'm out on my own and my mom has no power over me
thanks in advance for your answers. please try not to be rude cause like i said i'm only 18. the best answer i'll pick will be the one who answers my questions in the most polite way

I'm really tired of being afraid of everything...how can I get over my fears?

I have a bipolar schizophrenic friend and we were at a restaurant. He was talking about his meds not controlling his anxiety. I said, "Fear and anxiety might be a luxury. Right now, all you can think about is how anxious you are. But if someone burst through that door with a shotgun and shouted "Everybody DOWN!" and methodically robbed us all, you wouldn't remember your anxiety at all. You'd have your nose on the hardwood floor thinking, "I hope he doesn't come over here..." Different concern.

Why of all the emotions you possess, are you focusing on fear? Why not wonder, curiosity, interest, awe, even disgust? What is it about fear that makes you feel safe? It's the emotion you run to for a reason.

Fear makes us think we can be safe. If only we warn ourselves early enough, nothing bad will happen. But of course, bad things happen anyway all the time to everybody. How long will your list become to protect yourself when you can't possibly protect yourself enough? When did you learn that if you just add something to a fears list, they can't hurt you any more? What's next? Fear of Kleenex? tassles on loafers?

How tired are you of being afraid? Tired enough?

Here's what you do:
1. get autoshut off appliances, set em and forget em.
2. look at the dashboard instead of the road when you're in someone else's car.
3. If you're going to die from something soon on your list, you might as well live life to the fullest even if it's only for the next 15 minutes. What are you saving? Not your life because that's all washed up. Have fun.

You get to be afraid of spiders and that's all, because everybody is.
