Can I drink cold coffee after a workout at night during fat loss?

Not only that, having a post-workout brew can actually be good for you. Studies have found that caffeine can decrease muscle pain after you work out. Dr. Wider says the theory is that caffeine blocks a biochemical that plays a role in the pain cycle, so you don't feel achy or sore after a tough gym session.post-exercise caffeine can also help your muscles refuel if you pair it with a carb, like a banana.Stick with one cup of coffee after the gym since too much caffeine can make your heart race and leave you feeling jittery. You may think that coffee and working out don't mix very well because caffeine can make you dehydrated. It's actually been proven that the caffeine in coffee only has mild diuretic effects and does not lead to dehydration. But caffeinated drinks can still make you jittery, sleepless, or anxious, which is why water is always your best bet for staying hydrated before and after a workout. And in terms of after your sweat session, coffee might actually reduce muscle pain since it blocks the body's receptors for adenosine, a chemical released in response to inflammation. So if you want to work out, and have your coffee too — go for it! Just be sure you don't wreck your coffee with calorie-hefty add-ons like cream and sugar!Hope this helps !!!

Can you drink beer and whiskey in the same night without getting sick?

If you are careful and don't go overboard, yes you can drink whiskey and beer and not get sick. Some people like to drink a beer at the same time (called a beer-back) to cut the aftertaste of the liquor. It's true you can get sick from mixing alcohol types, but this is most likely to happen if you are mixing different kinds of liquor in addition to the beer, such as, having a beer, then having a shot of vodka, then having a martini, then having a long island iced tea, then having a shot of tequila and another beer. If you pace yourself and don't drink too much of either one, beer or whiskey, you should be fine. Drinking plenty of water (a good rule is one glass of water per drink) will also help prevent hangovers, which are caused by dehydration, which is caused by the alcohol.

Drinking beer then working out ?

Beer helps your workout? It's a myth
When "beer" and "running" appear in the same sentence, what follows is usually some elaborate description about the value of carbohydrates or calories -- basically an excuse for drinking to replace what the body loses during a workout.

But alcohol consumption -- particularly before or after a workout -- is a regimen most should reconsider.

Aside from the adverse effects of overconsumption, including impaired driving and an inability to think clearly, drinking carries other negative effects.

For example, think back to a recent night on the town that included several drinks. Now, think about what happened later that night, when you woke up and headed to the fridge for some cold water or a soft drink to relieve an undeniable thirst.

That's the alcohol. It takes up shop in muscles where water should be. Once the water is gone, the body needs more.

So, should runners drink at all? Overall, alcohol's negative effects outweigh the positive ones. In fact, too much of anything will hinder performance -- whether it's alcohol, fatty foods or even soft drinks.

If you do end up having a few too many one night, you should take an extra day off so that the negative effects on your body don't affect your workout.

Of course, it's easier -- and safer -- to stop after one or two and never let it get that far.

Like many dieters, I have plateaued, and haven't lost any weight in the past three weeks. I consume 1200 calories a day, and work out a couple nights a week, but was seeing no results. Then, last night, I gave in and had several beers, followed by several snacks. Expecting to see
my weight spike from the binge, I was shocked to see I dropped 1.2 lbs!!!! Why? Did the beer have
some sort of flushing effect? Anyone else experience
this?
