Why does Eastenders keep getting awards?
It really infuriates me to see people saying the reason that Eastenders keeps winning is because "it appeals to young people". Well just to let you know I am 13 and i H A T E Eastenders and so do most of my close friends. People think that just because there is lots of fighting and people who do not speak proper English is the reason that it appeals to the younger generation, when it actual fact it does not!! Coronation Street & Emmerdale have FAR more interesting plots & story lines then Eastenders plus Coronation Street & Emmerdale's cast can actually ACT. I think it is a matter of opinion and i respect other people television viewing decisions but to say that Eastenders wins as it appeals to the younger generation is just naive. I think that the reason Eastenders wins is because it is based in London and so people from London are more likely to vote for there own show - i know that's what I would do! xx
Do MPs gain anything politically with another referendum which Remain would inevitably win? Why not just go ahead and cancel Brexit immediately (or as soon as Mayxit is defeated)?
No MP wants another referendum! Those on the leave side don’t, they wish to leave. Those on the remain side wish to remain. However they have a problem, they agreed in Parliament that the referendum would clarify the wish of the British people and the result would be respected by Parliament. Which no doubt seemed a good idea when all the evidence they saw showed that remain would win. When it turned out the evidence was wrong they had a problem. If they just ignore the previous vote and vote to stay in it becomes blindingly obvious that the countries elected representatives don’t care about the will of the people and that has major repercussions for any attempt to claim Britain is a democracy. The damage to democracy is already serious and getting worse. What other democracy claims that Parliament is sovereign over the will of the people? Yet that claim is now being made on a daily basis by MP’s on the remain side. So their only hope of maintaining a pretence of democratic process is that a 2nd referendum will be won by remain and they can then vote to do so whilst maintaining a claim that they are reflecting the wishes of the people.
