Epub Reader With Edit Options

Could "print to epub" be added to OSX's print option "PDF Menu"?

Certain native Mac OS X applications that handle text or images have the "PDF Menu" within the print dialog. At the bottom of the PDF Menu, there is the option to "Edit Menu..." The editable table includes the option to remove and add "Printing Workflows." Choosing to add a Printing Workflow allows you to browse for applications. What could be added to the PDF Menu? Is it possible to add an option to the PDF Menu to allow printing to an epub file, the way it allows you to print to a pdf document?

Essentially, how is the document 'sent to' the application chosen as a "Printing Workflow" in the PDF Menu? The way this works is a mystery to me, and even if adding a print-to-epub feature is not possible, I'd still like to understand it.

Epub reader with edit options?

No eBook reader will integrate the book highlights or bookmarks into the book file itself. On the contrary, there will be related files storing this kind of info on the device. So you are unable to let your friends see the errors on his/her device/computer (unless you find and send him/her the related files).

Perhaps you can try some EPUB editor freeware to edit the EPUB yourself.

What is the best ePub reader for the Mac?

I'm going to do a little self promotion and suggest an eBook reader I wrote called Alice. It supports both ePubs and PDFs. You can search and the table of content list is replaced with search result locations. It has a scroller at the bottom like iBooks so you can navigate quickly anywhere in the book. Alice uses Spotlight to find ePub and PDF files and lists them in a Library view. (Alice doesn't move or copy the files, it just keeps track of where they are.) Files can be moved to a Storage view if you find your Library view too cluttered. Both views have search to make it easy to find things if you have lots of eBooks. Here is a link to Alice on the Apple App Store: http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/a...I wrote Alice because I had a bunch of ePubs from the Pragmatic Programmer store and wanted a way to read them. I added PDF support because I found Apple's Preview app becoming more annoying to use than it was worth. I wrote Alice to work with eBooks the way I'd like to work with them, but if customers contact me I'll try to implement feature they ask for. (Features get done faster if I like the idea too.)One feature of Alice that makes me happy is it's accessibility. Because Apple has good accessibility built in, Alice has gotten good reviews from folks with disabilities because it is accessible.  I only needed to make a few small changes suggested by a very nice user in France. Here is a link to a podcast talking about Alice and accessibility: http://www.edencast.fr/mac-lire-...

How do you edit an ePUB file?

Hi,You change the extension from .epub to zip. Then you can extract the files. They are mostly web pages and other control files. You can edit the web pages butbe very careful with the other files. When you are done, zip all the files back upand change the extension back to .epub.Good luck.Be careful and work on a copy, NOT the original , in case something goes wrong!Brian.

For Android user, answer is clear: Moon+ Reader.Kindle app is getting frustrating especially when you buy a lot of books from other sites such as Leanpub, Smashwords etc. or read non-amazon documents. The problem is that your notes and highlights don’t appear on kindle.amazon.com/your_highlights if you use Kindle application in your phone/tablet. They only appear if you take this notes on Kindle E-reader. In addition to this, you can’t access ‘My Clippings.txt’ in your Android phone, either.
