Erin Brockovich Film Techniques

What are the top 3 best movie dialogues/tagline/picked up or sarcastic line ever?

It is an intriguing question. Seen many of my favorite taglines in the answers. So, I would like to state a few which I personally consider them as the 'best movie tag lines'.Goodfellas (1990)  - Shooting people was 'No big deal'If you had seen this film, Joe Pesci shoots almost everyone who hurts his ego. The opening murder scene. The bartender. Almost everyone. Except Ray Loita, most of the characters involves in killing. Thus it justifies the tagline and yes my most favorite film! _____________________________________________________The Machinist (2004)  - How do you wake up from a nightmare, if you're not asleep? The sticky note in the refrigerator. The Puzzle which made me to think that the answer is, 'KILLER'. The amusement park. 'The Idiot' by Dostoevsky. Mr. 'Healthy' Bale in the last scene. Ivan and his array of bullet casing teeth. Tuna. Come on what not looked like a Nightmare? Should I say more to justify this tagline?_____________________________________________________The Graduate (1967)  - This is Benjamin. He's a little worried about his futureFrom the beginning frame till the last frame Dustin Hoffman (Benjamin) would look completely lost. Yeah, closely watch him from the airport sequence (the beginning frame) to the frame where he runs away with Katherine Ross (Elaine) in a bus. When he leaves the car and starts running - he is shown at some distance running straight at the camera, an effect which makes him look as if he getting nowhere as he's running. In some other scene - Benjamin is walking from the right side of the screen to the left, while everyone else in the scene is moving from left to right. In western culture, things that move left to right seem natural (think of the direction you read words on a page), those that move right to left seem to be going the wrong way. These two visual techniques echo the themes of the film, Benjamin is going the wrong way, and getting nowhere in life. This all shows us, Benjamin is worried about his future!Source - The Graduate (1967) The tagline is that promising I tell you!!_____________________________________________________Special MentionsImitation Game - The true enigma was the man who cracked the codeReservoir Dogs - Every Dog has its day

Who are some of the best film directors with no distinct style?

Few directors can make movies in multiple genres: comedy, drama, musical, thriller, etc. … and even fewer can do it with putting their personal imprimatur of style on films. Spielberg can’t, Scorcese can’t, Hitchcock couldn’t and even Kubrick couldn’t (although he could cross genres like a master). For my money, we have to go back in time to the old masters to find journeyman directors who could cross genres without tipping their stylistic hands. I think the best at this was probably Billy Wilder.Consider these diverse movies, most of them classics, that the master made:RomCom - Ninotchka (1939), Sabrina (1954), The Major and the Minor (1942), A Foreign Affair (1948), Love in the Afternoon (1957)War Movie - Five Graves to Cairo (1943), Stalag 17 (1953)Comedy - The Fortune Cookie (1966), Some Like it Hot (1959)Drama - The Lost Weekend (1948), The Apartment (1960), Sunset Boulevard (1950)Political Expose/Satire - Ace in the Hole (1951), One, Two, Three (1961)Film Noir - Double Indemnity (1948),Farce - Irma La Douce (1963), The Seven Year Itch (1955)Screwball Comedy - Ball of Fire (1941), The Front Page (1974)Courtroom Drama - Witness for the Prosecution (1957)BioPic - The Spirit of St. Louis (1957)He also made one musical, but it wasn’t a winner like the others. And while I’m on the subject of “winners”, take a moment to reconsider the above list and assess just how good some of those movies were. Some Like It Hot - is widely considered to be the best Hollywood Comedy ever filmed. Double Indemnity is one of the top two or three film noirs. Ace in the Hole is a strangely prescient film that is more relevant today than it was in 1951. Lost Weekend and The Apartment both won Best Picture Oscars.Among the modern filmmakers, I’d go with Richard Linklater as having the best ability to cross genres with no distinct style. If you’ve seen Dazed and Confused, Before Sunrise, Waking Life, School of Rock, Bernie, Last Flag Flying, Fast Food Nation, Boyhood you realize that he’s all over board, from musicals to documentaries to animation to black comedies, to biopics to dramas. The only common denominator between his films is that he uses the same actors (Black, McConnaughey, Hawke) over and over again.

The King's speech movie ?

Hello guys, can you tell what are some technique that had been used as a warm-ups for public speaking nervousness in the movie The King's speech?
Thank you :)

What are some of the best movies on the art of persuasion and negotiation you've ever watched?

I've seen some films, mostly about court and/or sales that would fit this description. It is an art in an art piece- persuasion in a movie, exceptionally popular to ridiculous extent in this age of couching, lectures about couching and couching session for couching instuctors.I guess the main topic is influence, as persuation and negotiation leads to that.My top list in no particular order:1. A Few Good Men (1992) (also would mention Risky Business (1983) and Jerry Maguire (1996))2. The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)3. The Usual Suspects (1995)4. Interview (2007)5. Fracture (2007)6. True Story (2015)7. Philadelphia (1993)8. Dallas Buyers Club (2013)9. Dog Day Afternoon (1975)10. The Life of David Gale (2003)Or just this one is enough for the start Burn After Reading (2008)

What's a basic motivational movie idea?

Ideas for an inspirational film? How about adding to my list below by telling the story of  someone(s) you know who stood up and won for peacefully fighting injustice when the world would have otherwise stepped on them and their people...and then passed them by without notice? A real person's call to action because of their unreasonable belief in truth, peace, justice and love were at the heart of the most inspirational stories I've ever seen onscreen. The hearts of real people who overcame adversity and inspired those around them will continue to inspire people who read about or watch them on the big screen. One person's passionate beliefs and courage to realize solutions have and will continue to spawn confidence, bravery, creativity and patience in countless others. Do you know someone who nobly fought the good fight?I just saw the movie Selma and it ran goosebumps down my arms. I'm not black but I'm human and I, for one, am inspired by the bravery of the African-Americans in Selma and beyond - including Dr. Martin Luther King. I know that without them, I'd be living in a country with the terrible injustice they abolished. Their story, as told onscreen, was energizing and awe-inspiring. The movie Gandhi also made me face my own courage. I wonder what I'm made of....don't you? There is nothing more motivational than watching or reading about a real someone - who wasn't specifically tapped to do the right thing. They just did it because they had to, against all odds, and they knew they weren't going to be patted on the back for their work. Their immediate families would likely not see them very often. They knew they might die (that was never their goal).....They had a sense of injustice and knew what it looked like when they saw it. They kept love in their hearts. Then they made a viable plan with their friends and everyone else they could inspire. Countless numbers of people eventually lived better lives because of them.Real people in pain committing extreme acts of courage to solve problems for themselves and others! How's that concept for endless movie ideas? The Movies that portray what I've described above and are sitting on the tip of my head (not an exhaustive list), include the following:~ Selma~ Erin Brockovich~ Mandela~ Gandhi~ The Hotel Rwanda~ Cesar Chavez- [Can you think of more] ?Someone you've heard of or know whose story hasn't been told for the masses is the best movie idea I can think of.
