Everythime I Eat I Can Feel The Food Going Down On My Chest Help

Every time I eat something, It hurts going down my throat and into my chest?

sounds like you have an infection of some sort
do you have a fever
you should get it checked out might be something more serous than you think, because sooner or later your not going to be able to eat or drink anything

Is it normal to feel you food going down to you stomach while swallowing?

I have this problem for 2 weeks now and it doesn't feel like is getting better. When i swallow food i feel pressure in my chest and sometimes my back until my food reaches my stomach. I don't think it hurts(feels like i swallowed a big chunk of food) but it is really starting to affect my life because now I'm afraid to eat. This happens especially with dry foods such as bread and meat, if i don't think about it i can have a normal meal but I'm starting to get more stressed about this. And sometimes when I'm swallowing water it feels like I'm swallowing little balls.
Do you think is normal and it's just my anxiety or it could be a serious illness such as an infection in the esophagus?
Does anybody else have this symptoms?
PS:I already went to an ENT doctor and she looked at my throat and my larynx and she couldn't see anything odd.She asked my if i was under a lot of stress and prescribed me some antacid for two weeks and I'm afraid to go and ask for and endoscopy

Why does it feel like the food gets stuck in my chest when i eat?

Acid reflux perhaps?? Do you feel like there a big bubbles of gas stuck all the way up from your chest half way up your throat too?? Constantly trying to burp and swallow? Full of uncomfortable wind all the time? If so, probably lactose intolerance, nasty isn't it?? Me too.............. Just cut out all dairy, eggs are o.k. though. Change your milk to an alternative like soy milk or rice milk. No ice-cream, cream, yohurt, chocolate, basically anything with lactose in it.......... You wont know yourself once you beat the monster!!! Check out the net for lactose intolerance cos its a sneaky little devil, even some candy has lactose in it.!!!

Cheers

Everytime I eat food my chest hurts?

When I eat food like pizza or something else heavy when I swallow my food it stops at my chest and sits there for like 2 minutes having me to sit still or stop swallowing until it goes down and I can feel it in my chest and when I move I can feel it and various times I throw up. Can anyone please tell me what this is.

Why the Food I eat feels like its stuck on my chest?

First, you might consider chewing your food more thoroughly and in smaller amounts which may alleviate this. Next, it is possible that you have a narrowing in your esophagus and seeing your family doctor about this would be the first step. He/she might then schedule you for an endoscopy which is where they pass a lighted tube down your esophagus, looking for a stricture (narrowed area). If they find one, they can stretch it back out so that it doesn't cause problems again for a while. Many people may need to have this done every few years if they symptoms return.

Why do I feel like there is food stuck in between my chest?

At present does your food pass down your gullet (esophagus) without a hitch? Then most likely the piece of jerky has passed down to your stomach but has irritated you esophagus locally when scraping by.Some people clear their esophagus by eating a piece of chewed soft bread (without the crust) of some cooked rice, followed by lots of water. If it persists, see a doc. When faced with such a patient usually on the ED, I either did an upper GE endoscopy (seeing is believing) and removed what food remnants I found, or if the suspicion wasn't high have the radiologist perform a barium swallow, which showed any obstruction, and the barium by being quite heavy because of gravity often pushed the piece of food into the stomach, problem solved.

Chest feels tight and food feels stuck?

So yesterday at dinner I cooked myself a meal after a day of being hungry.. I took my first bite and the food wasnt going down as smooth.. the food felt stuck in my chest and my hunger just disappeared after my first bite.. today all day i felt a tightness in my chest and food still seems to get stuck when I eat... I have anxiety and this is freaking me out so bad i cant sleep. Anyone know what this could be? I dont have a headache or anything
thank you

How come when i swallow my food i can feel it going through my heart?

I had this problem and chose to get an upper digestive x ray to figure out the problem. It got so bad for me that once of twice the food actually got stuck and caused me to choke and vomit.

It feels like it is going through your heart but it really isn't. My problem was something called "Schotzy's Ring" (don't know if I spelled that right) there is an area right above my stomach in my esophogus that has become too small to fit large bites of food. If I swallow too much food to quickly, or don't chew enough, the food gets stuck in my esophogus. This can cause a sharp pain in my chest and sometimes, I swear I can actually feel my food going all the way down my chest as it slides down into my stomach. Weird huh?

If it really starts to bother you, get this x ray to see if you have to same problem as I do. My doctor put me on acid reflux medication which seemed to cure the symtoms.

When I drink water, I feel it through my chest. and small amount of pain after that. Is it normal?

You might be feeling it passing through your esophagus/gullet, in some cold water passing through could induce a slight of more severe cramp in the esophagus which is felt behind the breastbone, but not the whole chest. If it persists see a doc, personally if it was very troublesome I would perform an upper GI endoscopy to look at the insides of the esophagus to rule out an inflammation causing pain, e.g. due to reflux, but that would cause pain on swallowing food too, because that would be a treatable condition.

Why do i have chest pain after i swallow food?

Yeah sometimes the same thing happens to me when I eat food. It feels like the food gets stuck "in there" in my chest for a while before going down, and it hurts. This happened to me like 4 or 5 times before so now I realize that I had swallowed too fast and that I had not drunk any water before the meal so the big piece + "friction" made it hurt.

If this happens every time you eat, then there is something wrong. If it rarely happens, like only this time when you ate steak, or like once a month, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Just take things slow when eating, and things should be fine.

Take care!
