Exchange Rate Of Hungarian Forint To Romanian Lei

Can I use euro's in Romania and or Hungary?

In Hungary you can find several changers or banks to change euros into Forints so it does not really matter, whether you hacve euro or not. Or simply use an ATM to withdraw cash.

The same must be true for Romania.

Using euros to pay directly will be either impossible or get you horrendous exchange rates.

Why are some countries in Europe zone but not using Euro as their currency?

Firstly, there is no Europe zone. At present there are 28 countries in Europe which form the EU and soon there will be 27 countries with the UK stepping out.Secondly, whether or not a country can enter the EU is not up to the country itself, it is the EU that decides which country enters the EU and which can't.Since January 1st 2015 there are 19 countries using the euro as their currency, so the UK, Sweden, Denmark, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia don't use the euro while they are in the EU.The EU countries need to accept the euro as their currency as soon as they meet the monetary demands of the EU. When in 1990 the negotiations about one European Union at the Treaty of Maastricht were taking place and the first discussions were held about 1 currency, the UK and Denmark managed to agree with the EU that they could keep their own currency and they can give it up whenever they want and use the euro instead.Sweden is not using the euro, as they never adopted the European Exchange Rate Mechanism (ERM). This is essential for a country to do if they want to use the euro. Sweden has, since its accession to the EU, been postponing to adopt the ERM and is therefore not using the euro yet. This has been tolerated by the EU ever since.Every new country entering the EU, must adopt the euro as soon as they meet he monetary demands of the eu. They must adopt the ERM and after a while they'll be transitioning to the euro.So it is a matter of time when the other countries will adopt the euro. It is a requirement of the EU and in a few years those countries will have the euro too. Denmark and Sweden will be the exceptions I think and the UK is leaving the EU so they also won't get the euro obviously.

Who was Germany's trade partners in the 1930's?

Yugoslavia, Romania and Hungary
Argentina (some countries South America)

"In the 20th century, autarky as a policy goal was sought by Nazi Germany in the 1930s, by maximizing trade within its economic bloc and minimizing trade outside it, particularly with the then world powers - Britain, the USSR and France - with whom it would eventually go to war and thus must not rely upon. In 1930s Germany, this economic bloc consisted primarily of economically weak countries such as those in South America, the Balkans and eastern Europe (Yugoslavia, Romania and Hungary)' who had raw materials vital to Germany's recovery. Trade with these countries, which was negotiated by then Minister of Economics Hjalmar Schacht, was based on the exchange of German manufactured produce directly for these materials rather than currency, allowing Schacht to barter without reliance on the strength of the Reichsmark." - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autarky

Also, Switzerland and Sweden remained neutral and continued to trade with Germany.

International trade of the USA, imports and exports both decreased over 60% between 1930 and 1932, because ot the well-intended but counterproductive "Smoot–Hawley Tariff Act of 1930", trying to spur on economic growth within the USA by reducing international trade with all nations, but actually hurting it and worsening the recession to a depression. (Its very scary that USA is doing a very similar move NOW with the "buy American" policies, politically attractive at face-value, but economically harmful in results.) USA did less trade with Germany and other nations too, because of this Smoot-Hawley tariff.

Which currencies are used in Hungary and what are their conversion rates with the US dollar?

The official currency of Hungary is the Hungarian Forint. In general, you do not expect that any shop accepts other currencies in cash. Large stores in the downtown of major cities may have a cashier where you pay in Euro, but the exchange rate will be somewhat poor. Little shops, parking meters, vendor machines, etc. operates only on Forints. If you have lucky day and looks enough hapless some bypasser may help and change your dollars, but only out of goodwill. You can go far with visa cards, but keep a few thousand forints (5–10 dollars or euros worth) in your pocket.
