I didn't go to my detention, excuses?
You said you completely forgot, so be honest. Go to her first thing in the morning and explain that you completely forgot until you got home this afternoon that you had a lunch detention and you felt terrible. If you have her email, send her an email right now, tell her you forgot, apologize, and see if you could have your lunch detention tomorrow (or possible tomorrow and Friday) to make up for it. It was an honest mistake, the best way to deal with it is to go to her and apologize before she comes to you. Good luck-you mind is probably going in so many directions during the school day that it is easy to forget about things-teachers are the same way--they forget sometimes.
School Detention Excuses?
Do you want the truth?... I mean the serious truth of what *I* think sounds better? Excuses are EXCUSES and you're parents won't care what caused it. The point is that you got a detention and the teacher(s) felt you needed it. This isn't so bad, it's not like it goes on your personal record and keeps you from getting a job. Nobody except your teacher is going to know, and that's fine. You might think it's unfair, but you'll look back and see that it's hard to reverse a detention. The absolute BEST thing you can say to your parents is: "I was talking during class and I accept it." If you say that I guarantee you you're parents will look at you as responsible and independant. Who knows, that things you've been asking for may come sooner. ;) (just don't ask for it, it'll come when you're parents feel you're ready. lol) ~HS Student

okay so my teacher recently gave me a 60 min after school detention because i supposively plagerismed(copied) my essay from an online source or from someone? :l which i didnt? i was honest with her the essay was about I HEARD THE OWL CALL MY NAME it was a very confusing book VERY -.- so i kindaaa looked onlinee to help me with this one sentence. ONE SENTENCE. :| and because supposively i copied a word from some girl who's not even in my class period who i DONT EVEN KNOWWW??? WTF??o.O but i wasn't in the mood to argue so i just said whatever i'll serve it. anyways whats some good excuses to tell my parents? tomorrow theres a volley ball school game. should i tell them im going to the gaame after school and liee ? and please dont say to not lie cause its bad :3 i already know its wrong and yeah -.-
How do I miss detention?
You don’t.Accept what you did wrong, and fulfill your punishment. You may not have done anything wrong, but you have to suck it up and go, to avoid garnering more punishments. Be a good student, attend your detention, and then talk to the administration and verify that you did nothing wrong, if you believe you were in the right.If you’re sick, or if something comes up, tell them in advance, and then they’ll understand and reschedule. Don’t give some BS excuse, though. If you ditch, if you try to get out of it, they won’t understand, and will reschedule and just give you more punishment.
What is the best way to avoid detention?
Don’t do stupid stuff. That’s it. Most detentions are given to students who are disruptive. Don’t be disruptive. Don’t give your attention to people who provoke others.I tell my students there are two ways to avoid almost all trouble: the 3Fs and never be #2.The 3Fs: feet & face front. Your attention is on the teacher. You are turned toward the front of the room. It’s almost impossible to get in trouble like this, unless you have a smart mouth and don’t know when not to use it.Don’t be #2: when somebody starts something, the invisible antennae your teachers receive when they get their teaching certficates pop out and start scanning the room. The trouble starter frequently passes under the radar. However, once those antennae are up, the very next nanosecond of disruption is caught and registered, and the attention goes immediately in that direction. So in the category of “don’t do stupid stuff”, include reacting to provocation.MYOB, follow all directions as soon as given, and don’t poke the bear. You will have no trouble.

Detention can be after school for X amount of time, usually an hour Detention can also be what is called "Saturday School". Basically, you show up on Saturday and spend the morning sitting. In Detention, you basically are sitting. You are supposedly suppose to be catching up on work you either didn't do or need to do. Detention is also for people who have crossed the line too many times. it is a supposed "corrective" action. I have never seen where Detention serves much of a purpose next to seperating the "good from the bad". Been there, Done that, Got the T-shirt.
What's a good excuse to use to reschedule detention?
I'm in ISS (In School Suspension) and I really don't want to go to detention after school. I'm already stuck in a room for 7 hours.. I don't feel like staying after school for another hour for detention. What can be a good excuse to reschedule it??
I accidentally skipped one of my detentions. What excuse can I tell my teacher?
Tell her you'll make it up or you can lie and say "sorry I forgot I had a doctor'dentist appointment" or that you had to pick up a baby sibling. But seriously just say you forgot and you'll make it up. I did that once and the teacher said since I didn't make up something ridiculously convinient I didn't even have to do it
I disagree with my son's detention?
My son, who is 14 and is in 8th grade got a detention because he was late to school, which was my fault. I got rear-ended at a traffic light, and had to wait for the police to show up. We live about 15 minutes from the school by car.when we got to the school, he was 30 minutes late. He got a detention for being late. The next day, I came into school, and for about a good 30 minutes I was in the office,yelling at principal. Eventually I had to leave, because I'm a real estate agent, and someone was interested in A house I had for sale. He starts school tomorrow, after the winter break, and that's when his detention is. can I fight this?
