FTP client file zilla help?
It can be quite confusing (when you first look at it), however you will find that if you enter the server, username and password in and specify that the port is port 22 and it will work out that it is using sftp. If however filezilla says "connection denied", try using just normal FTP (ignore the sftp port and just input port 21. you will need to re-input the server address). Note: If the SFTP port is not 22, add "sftp://" before the server address.

Definitely Filezilla. Unfortunately with the latest updates it started giving all kinds of issues into recognizing the servers properly. I’ve had to switch to CoreFTP and boy, is it slow.
The file size on FILEZILLA interface and actual file size are different?
My customer uploaded file, size 304,501 KB (adobe illustrator) and I have downloaded file useing FILEZILLA and i see the file size on FILEZILLA inferface - 304,501 KB. However, I opened up actual folded in my pc and I see the size different - 297,453 KB. pls. advise.
Why was FileZilla created in C++?
FileZilla client is one of the oldest FTP clients and open source by nature. The best part of the software is its cross platform support. The main reason, I think for using C++ for development is speed factor. Remember, during 2000 - 2001 time frame, the jvms were not as fast as the one now. Also Java APIs were stabilized and improvised that time. However, many projects started that time, written completely on Java. Also, that is of the reasons why VisualBasic was not used for development(VB programs are slower, compared to C++ programs) also, .NET was under development that time. One more obvious reason for using No VB was cross platform support.Other reason I could think of, for choosing C++ was it's support for UI integration… WxWidget considered as one of the best UI libraries( written originally using C++) was the best fit, I believe. Other libraries like SWT or JFC libraries either under development and not matured as WxWidget.I don't think any other language other than C++ which provided good performance, GUI support and cross platform compatibility.

Generally it happens through any FTP softwares like FileZilla , winscp etc.IP address / host name of your hosting server and the login credentials for your account.Some hosting servers offers webFtp as well and if so, it can be done through any web browser. Typically when the new hosting account is provisioned, new email will be received with all the steps and details along with the credentials.I hope its applicable for freehosting as well. Correct me if I have missed something !!
