You will be admitted again into the United States, even with an expired Green Card, as the expiration of the document has no impact on your status as a permanent resident. The only obstacle you may face is that the Kangaroopeople won't allow you to board a plane without proof that you will be admitted to the United States. The only way for you to avoid this would be to shoot out the I-90 and then get yourself a shiny new I-551 stamp in your passport. That's basically a Green Card in ink form. As long as you’ve stayed in possession of the card, you’re probably OK: the law requires that an alien retain in their possession any “alien registration document” issued to them by immigration officials, which you’ve done if you hung onto your green card. I'm supposed to b traveling to Puerto Rico soon, sooner than I can get my expired green card renewed, I figured its ok being that P.R is property of the U.S, and I called someone at the department that has to do with naturalization about the travel but I forgot what she said about Puerto Rico I do remember her saying I can travel within the states though. Can someone please provide me with a valid answer. Thnks!
