Explain How Sealing Your Doors Helps

The glass is falling out of our screen door when it is opened or closed. do we need to buy a new one or can it

I assume what you have got, is a glass frame that will slide up or down, and it is this piece that is falling out, when the door is operated.

This glass is in a frame, and the frame runs in a track in the door. You need to look at this. On the frame itself, there should be a springed, finger tab on both bottom corners, and a pin at each top corner. Quite often, the finger tab will break, or the spring will break...and Ive seen a few of the pins (upper corners) break off. These are all parts that can be replaced. Some stores carry the parts, some don't. You can always take the window in to a shop to have it repaired. (Some hardware stores will do this too). If this is a matter of the glass falling out of the frame itself... then its the seal that is the problem. If you can find the right type of seal, you can fix it yourself. If not, then take the frame to a glass shop, or hardware store for repair.

If the parts to the glass frame are all intact and operating properly, then the track they run in could have a problem. On the door, there is a track on the left, and right, of the glass. Many doors will have 2 tracks... one for the upper glass, or screen, and the second for the lower glass. I have seen a very few, that had 3 tracks...one for each.
Inspect the track... is it damaged at any place? bent out? etc. If you find any damage you should be able to repair it. Push the flange back in, if its bent out, etc. On occasion, the tracks are slightly different widths... so you need to verify that the glass and screen are running in the proper tracks.

Good Luck

How do I fix my foggy sliding glass door?

Sadly, I think you will have to purchase a new door, or put up with foggy vision. We recently had a quote for new windows in our condo. Several of the windows are 'foggy' like your door. The window guy explained that thermo pane windows have little beads of silica in between the layers of glass, to help dry out moisture. Eventually, the silica beads rupture, and the result is white powdery stuff inside the window, and no more moisture absorption.

Sliding glass doors are somewhat expensive, but if you can find one that fits in the existing hole, you may be able to install a new one yourself, saving the installation costs (about equal to the cost of the new door).

Explain why the refrigerator door stays shut after it has been closed.?

Older models in the 50’s and 60’s had a latch and handle. These can’t be opened from the inside and resulted in deaths of children playing hide and seek. Most models from the 70’s onward have magnets in the seal flexible seal that comes in contact with the frame.

There is a room with no doors, no windows, nothing and a man is hung from the ceiling and a puddle of water is on the floor. How did he die?

I can come up with few possible explationsRemember those houses of the past when we used to have a Well in a room in the backyard. So possibly the man tried to climb using the corner walls of the well, probably a bucket of water might have been kept there. He tipped of the bucket while climbing and later he hanged himself. There might have been a big drum or bucket standing on which could have been easier for the man to touch the ceiling. Possibly the bucket could have had water in it. The man overturned the drum/ bucket and hanged himself. Hence the puddle of water.

How does shutting a door contain a fire in a house? Won't the fire get through the door?

Fire is an absolutely amazing thing. Almost like a living creature, it has to breathe. By closing doors, you slow down airflow to the fire, and choke it out.Doing this won’t actually *stop* a fire in many - or even most - cases, but it will slow it down greatly, and if you can slow it down you can increase the odds of people getting out of the home, and the fire department getting there before it’s too late to save it.You’ve probably also heard that you should feel a door to see if it is hot, before opening it in a fire. The reason for this is, that if there is a fire in an enclosed space - like that room on the other side of the door - it will likely be starved for oxygen. When you open that door you will provide it with a nice fresh supply of oxygen-rich air, and…

How to seal up gap between storm door and frame?

Go to your local hardware store and get a rubber door sweep to screw on the bottom of your storm door, they are usually available in multiple colors to match your existing door and will be the best method to seal that up. They do have some with double sided tape and some that you actually screw on, the screw on style will last longer but the stick on may be the easiest way for you to go! If you use the stick on be sure to clean the area of the door very good before applying the new seal for best results!
Good luck!

If a truck is inspected at the border, and the door seal is therefore broken, how is the receiver of the load assured that nothing has been tampered with or stolen during shipment?

I've only had this happen once, and it was several years ago, so if I'm wrong anyone feel free to correct me.If I'm remembering correctly, when the CBP agents break the seal to inspect the load, they will ask you if you want the load resealed after they are finished. If you say yes, they will put a new seal and make a notation on your paperwork that the original seal was broken for inspection and replaced with the new seal; they will put the new seal number on the paperwork as well.

In Kingdom hearts 1, how do you wake up and open the sleeping door in wonderland?

You don't have to open that door, once you complete the rest of the world, the sleeping door will awake to let you seal the keyhole, and then go back to sleep.

Fridge wall near door seal leaking black oily substance, can anyone tell me what it is & how to fix it -thanks

An oily substance seems to leak from a small join at the front of the fridge wall where the door seal closes. It's definately not mold, has no smell, is extremely sticky & hard to clean off. It's only leaked twice so far, the first time I noticed it, it covered a two inch distance perhaps a few milimeters wide and was fairly cohesive; it doesn't appear to run freely like water; Today I noticed it was re-appearing, so am curious if anyone could give me an idea on what it is. I would appreaciate any constructive input.
