Can someone explain the situation in Syria for me please?

I need to know more about what is happening in Syria for my current event test. All that shows up when I use Google, Bing and Yahoo are articles on a ceasefire. Could someone please better explain what is happening or provide a helpful link. Thank you!

Hypothetical Situation: How to explain this concept to a non-Muslim?

Ask him to read surah 6 verse 159 and then decide.

How would you explain the current geopolitical situation in layman's terms?

Thanks for A2A.I would agree to Brady, my fellow Quoran to a certain extent. But largely this is a ‘thought’ which had come to some Islamist to post 1914 to bring back real Islam. Then British Empire through its secret service had promoted this ‘thought’, so that Islam doesn’t turn towards Nazis. The ‘realm Islam’ as they called it to return to the days was headed by Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab(to be politically correct) & the path was called as ‘Salaf’. To do this he said, a ‘true believer’ had to wipe-out a non-believer in God. Thus there was beginning of a new reign of terror known as Wahabism. The recent deaths on this planet are due to this cancer. But today what happened in Turkey was (probably) due to the fact that someone was trying not to go to war in Iraq.As for USA, it is having problem from all quarters. Mainly youth are joining Wahabism because they are fed-up with capitalism. If one were to review the situation most of the foreign recruits in Wahabist organizations are from capitalist countries. And for Brexit. The age old British Empire got a taste of freedom lately, they would be wanting for more.Hope I am able to make things a little clear.

What has been the most difficult situation in your life which you finally overcame?

Thanks for the A2A!Difficulty is based on perception. One of them is when I did not clear my CA!I scored 92% in tenth and 95% in 12th class. I also cleared CPT and IPCC of CA in the very first attempt. I was always into my books. Failure was something which I had not faced.I thought I was inevitable and was arrogant. I was wrong but my stupid brain did not realize it. Some incident had to hit me hard and teach me.So I flunked... Not once but twice. You may very well imagine how much it hurts for someone who cleared well in all the previous exams! That one year was the slowest in my life. Precisely 1.5 years...I had not watched any movie. I did not celebrate any festivals. I did not meet any friends which eventually made them move away from me. 8 subjects and that was all was on my mind! I still have my study table filled with stick notes just to remind me what I came across. But this one incident made my life difficult. Nevertheless I learnt to respect people including the ones who hurt me!Peace!

Can someone explain the Gaza / Gully Situation in Jamaica Please?

yes, it is similar to the east coast-west coast in rap. boy this is hard to explain... it goes way back. there are these two veteran rival dancehall artistes in Jamaica: Bounty Killer and Beenie Man (been around from the '90)... Bounty Killer has introduced a number of other artistes into the dancehall scene, and are apart of his (Bounty Killer) group called the Alliance. two members of the Alliance are Vybz Kartel and Mavado... but the thing is that there was a feud between other members of the Alliance and Vybz Kartel, so Vybz Kartel left the Alliance and started hanging out with Beenie Man... so there is this divide in dancehall now... Vybz Kartel went on forming his own group- Gaza and Mavado formed his group- Gully. Gaza was formerly known as Borderline but the name was changed to Gaza because in a Jamaican play, a very effeminate man was asked if he was a man or a woman and he said he was on the borderline (we're VERY homophobic here!). the name Gaza was adopted from the Gaza Strip from that place in the middle east. hope i didnt confuse you! not all dancehall artistes are apart of the divide.

What defines the situation when two people call each other at the same time, when they think of the same thing, at times say the exact same words, text each other at the same time, and even look at each other at the same time when in a crowd, time and again?

This happened to me just last week.  It was Saturday morning and I phoned a casual friend whom I do not speak to very often, may be once every three months or so.  Anyhow when she heard my voice she went into a rant swearing on her children's life, and in the name of her husband, unfortunately now deceased, that she had the receiver in her hand and was just about to dial my number.  She was so excited at this event that I have not forgotten it.  Even as we said goodbye she was still excited about the occurrence.  I believe myself that this is much more than coincidence because this is not the first time I have experienced a similar thing happening.  I believe it is a phenomenon first identified by Carl Jung.  He was very brave to come out with this theory so many years ago, because as a culture we tend to deny and doubt aspects of experience that are not measurable.  Please see this link which explains synchronicity in detail. Understanding Synchronicity ~ The Power of Flow, Chapter One Synchronicity is the coming together of inner and outer events in a way that cannot be explained by cause and effect and that is meaningful to the observer

What is it called when you use a situation or thing as a comparion to explain or describe another?

There are two known types of comparison in English, Simile and Metaphor .the difference lies in the nature if the comparison. if the comparison is explicit, it is Simile, if the comparison is implicit itbis Metaphor.as as a or like a are Simile. Examples:her eyes were as blue as a summer skyas loud as a roaring bullDancing as though possessed by a devilWhen I finally got back to the hotel room I had to piss like a racehorse, she saidAs useful as a top-hat with pockets in.Metaphors are trickier to pin down (that’s a metaphor. You mount butterflies with a pin, not words). They require the reader to interpret them. Both to recognise that a comparison is being made, and what attribute of the false description is being transferred. The car flew down the track - an implicit comparison with an aircraft, and with its speed not its ability to vary altitude. The surface of the road turned to treacle. - the melting tarmac (both implied, as well ) did not become a delicious condiment, it became very sticky.Helicopter parents do no good in the end - the parents do not have a rotating head, and their feet are not off the ground. But they are ‘hovering’ nearby, and have a continual overview. (in another layer of metaphor, their anxiety may lead to nervous fidgiting, like the jittery flight of a helicopter hovering)The curate brayed his way through the sermon - no he didn’t. But the timbre of his voice may have resembled the call of an agitated donkey.

What is the recent real life situation where a scientific theory did not explain/correlate to the situation?

None, because if a theory proves to not correlate to reality, it's either modified or scrapped.Take Newton's Laws.  Newton assumed them to be universal.  Since Einstein they're known (as much as anything can be known) to pertain to only a limited set of conditions. If a theory is found to not correlate to the situation, either the situation is being perceived incorrectly or the theory has to be changed. If a theory doesn't explain the situation ... well, then it doesn't.  So what?  That just means that - surprise - we don't know everything.  A theory doesn't have to explain every situation, it just has to not find a situation that falsifies the theory.  If increasing the force on a moving object, in the direction of its motion, DECREASED its speed, we'd have a problem.  Back when we didn't know about gravitational lensing, seeing "two identical stars" wasn't a problem, it was something to investigate.
