Explain The Relation Of The Good To Happiness Eudaimonia The Ethics Of Plato Mill And Rawls.

How should we decide what is and isn't morally right?

We should learn to make a difference between morals we set for ourselves and morals we set for others.Morals we set for ourselves can be any moral you want, unless it’s purposefully harmful towards others for no other reason than to be harmful. So, don’t want to have sex before marriage? Go ahead. Don’t want to divorce once you’re married? Go ahead. You don’t want to have same sex relationships? Be my guest.Morals we set for others should be ONLY based on what is purposefully harmful for no other reason than to be harmful. Bullying? Harmful, not okay. Being in a same-sex relationship? Not harmful, none of your business. You have to accept that morals that are not about things that are inherently harmful are not universal, and therefore unreasonable to ask that other people share them. You can choose your friends on this basis, but you shouldn’t want to make these morals law.So for me, morals I set for other people are only based on whether what they do is harmful. Not harmful? None of my business, even if I personally would not ever do that thing that person is doing.
