In old fashioned sexist astrology, since men didn't express their emotions they were told to look for a spouse that matched their Moon, since the moon is about a person's emotions: how they process them and how they express them. Ideally, these days, men ought to express their own emotions. As for the person & the mom... it isn't about how your moon matches your mom's moon... it's about what your moon is doing in your chart. As an example, if you have Saturn conj your moon or square your moon, you may have a cold austere mom... if you moon is conj Jupiter, mom may be a very expansive, giving and fun mom... this is all pretty simplified but hopefully it points you in the right direction to look at "mom & moon."

Saturn/Capricorn represents the disciplinarian side of the father--the one who rewards or disciplines/punishes us when we've behaved beneath the expectations of what we should be capable of doing. I'm a bit surprised that Tobey would point to Aries for the children since, when we're looking at a woman's chart for the man in her life, we consider the Sun, Saturn and Mars. Mars, of course, rules Aries. Perhaps Tobey was referring to the procreative side here too? Imo, it's a sexual reference, not one related to conception. Hope that helps.

Waning and waxing crescent moon meaning?
I want to get a tattoo of the waning and waxing crescent moons, I know the words mean to grow and diminish. But I want a to know what the SYMBOLS mean. Both moons facing the opposide directions. Also, I want to get a tattoo for my grandmother. She is practically my mom, she raised me all my life while my mom worked. Now she has very advanced Alzheimers and doesn't even recognize me or her children. But I want something to represent her; someone that sacrificed everything for her children and me.
