Eyeliners With A Sponge At The End For Smudging

How to get smudged eyeliner like.....?

Hi there! The key to having smudged eyeliner (or any eyeliner for that matter) stay where you want is having a great eyelid primer. I use Urban Decay's Primer Potion and then I dust the lid with shadow (even if it's just a nude shadow). Of course the next important thing is the eyeliner itself...for a smudged look, you'll want to use a pencil liner. Bourjois has a great pencil liner that has a brush on the other end for smudging. Although it's more convenient to have a liner with a sponge or brush applicator, you could simply invest in a great pencil liner (like Urban Decay's 24/7 liner, which is rich in pigment) and smudge with a pointed sponge. Simply line the waterline and top of lashes and immediately blend it out with the sponge. Repeat process for a more dramatic look. Hope this helps!

Whats that sponge thingy on the other end of my eyeliner?

The sponge tip usually comes with a lot of eyeliners these days. Its there for if you want to smudge or smoke out your eyeliner from a harsh line to a softer look.

How do you put on eyeliner?

How to Put on Eyeliner

With a few pointers, you'll learn how to put on eyeliner like a professional in no time!

Learn some professional secrets of how to put on eyeliner, and look fabulous. Your friends will compliment you on your fantastic eyes, but the secret will be yours.

Selecting Your Eyeliner Color

You can make wonderful changes to your eyes with just a couple of strokes of eyeliner. Learning a few new techniques lets you change your eye shape, bring out and enhance your eye color, accentuate, or even dramatize your eyes. For perfect results, you need to start by selecting the correct color.

Brown Eyeliner
Brown eyeliner is a great color choice as it suites everyone. It looks good with any color of eyes and is suitable for both daytime wear and for a special night out. Use less eyeliner in the daytime for a very natural look. Putting your liner on heavier can give you a sultry, mysterious look.

Black Eyeliner
Black liner is harsh looking, and unless you have a very dark complexion, it is best to wear this only for evening. For day wear, black eyeliner looks unnatural and severe and can exaggerate any little skin imperfections.

Gray, Gray/Black, or Slate Gray
Different shades of gray eyeliner work well with any color eyeshadow and are perfect for either going out during the day or in the evening.

Types of Eyeliner

Pencils
Although they are easiest to use, eyeliner pencils pull your lids, if you do not hold your eyelids taunt.

Liquid Eyeliner
You'll need a steady hand to apply liquid eyeliner. Pencils are easier to apply, but liquid liner offers a great look as well.

Technique

* Draw a line as close as possible to your eyelashes.
* Work from the inner edge of your eye to the outer edge on the upper lid.
* Make sure your eyeliner pencil is sharp.
* Use a sponge brush and go back and forth over the liner gently, so you smudge the line for a softer look.
* Line the lower lid from the outside and taper to the inner edge. Again, smudge the liner.

Acquiring the art of how to put on eyeliner simply takes a bit of patience and practice.

I hope this helped.

Can anyone recommend a good pencil eyeliner?

Here's some cheap but very good eyeliners.
- Avon Glimmersticks Eyeliner, $3.49
- Avon ultra luxury eyeliner, $6.00
- Prestige khol eyeliner, $4.60
- L'Oréal Paris Extra-Intense Liquid Pencil Eyeliner, $8.95
- Jordana Cosmetics Easyliner For Eyes, $1.99
- CoverGirl Queen Collection Eyeliner, $4.99
- Sephora Kohl Pencil, $26
- Hard Candy Take Me Out Liner, $5

Eyeliner can be tricky, especially since there are so many different ways to apply it! For the most natural look that will impress your friends, try making a dotted line with your eyeliner, running it as close to your lashes as possible. By avoiding a thick, solid line, it’s less likely to smear and look messy later. If you want a smokier look, apply the liner in a straight line, but try smudging the edges with the corner of a soft makeup sponge (or look for a dual-ended liner that has a sponge on one side!). If you have fair skin and light-colored lashes, it can be tough to rock black eyeliner if it’s superdark. Instead, stick to rich browns and charcoal grays, and add some extra mascara if you want a more intense look. Dark-haired girls can go for black, but apply it with a light touch so you don’t end up with raccoon eyes!

What is a good eyeliner to achieve the wing eyeliner?

MAC rollerwheel (“pizza cutter”) liquid black eyeliner is my go to. Wanna know why??The applicator is a wheel mounted on the end of the stick of the applicator. Why is that good? Well it draws stick straight lines that are so precise you get wings that will cut a man. It’s waterproof. That’s important, to me anyways, because you don’t want your wing to fade or water off. My eyes are watery. It’s easily obtainable online (M·A·C Cosmetics Homepage , http://Macys.com or Electronics, Cars, Fashion, Collectibles, Coupons and More | eBay ) I haven’t tried to buy it in a brick-and-mortar store.Relatively cheap ~$20 Free shipping on MAC & Macys1 container lasts a long time. I’ve been alternating between 1 I keep in my purse & my 1 on my vanity for a couple of months of daily or near daily use & I haven’t run out.Comes in matte black, shiny black, brown & blue. I’ve only tried the blacks. The matte black is sold out at times so i got backups, in case “The Don” puts a ban on eyeliner (just kidding the POTUS worries about other things). If rollerwheel eyeliner isn’t your style, there are other options:MAC Liquidlast liquid eyeliner (my fave liquid eyeliner that isn’t rollerwheel). It is the most waterproof eyeliner I’ve ever seen & inky black. paint brush tip is easy to wield. $21Inglot #25 (matte black) liquid liner this won’t budge even though it’s water resistant & is so black. Has a nice sponge tipped applicator. It’s the easiest liquid eyeliner to use except for a pen. $12Kat von D Trooper liquid eyeliner pen simply the best pen. $18Inglot #77 matte black gel the best black gel eyeliner. Get a good brush. I like the tarteist brush. $15Tarteist paint gel eyeliner. $?ELF creme eyeliner $3 comes with its own adept mini brush. Great for travel.Eyeliner is something I simply can’t live without & I have tried most major brands, I do find pencils are hardest to make precise lines with. It will look childish & amateur to use a pencil no matter how sharp the tip. Liquid or gel is necessary to achieve the perf wing.

What are some of the best liquid eyeliners?

There are 2 brands that I use:Stellas liquid eyeliner - I usually wear the brown color and I’ve been pretty religiously using this brand. It is amazing with fine lines and can last me a while. It is waterproof and great for swimming, summer, etc. It’s easy to remove if you use a face cleaning wipe or face wash on it. My only concern with this is that the tip of the pen sometimes doesn’t stay precise for as long as I’d like because it starts to dry out as I begin using it… But not a huge issue.I recently started using Eyeko’s Skinny liquid eyeliner - So far so good! It’s soooo good with precise lines and thin eyeliner looks. I use the black color but most likely will look into other shades like brown. So far, I’m not experiencing issues I experience with Stella so I’m very happy with it. This is also slightly cheaper.I actually did a quick unboxing of this month’s birchbox where I tested the eyeko eyeliner, feel free to check it out to see how it works and whether its fine/precise enough for you!Good luck in your search!

What an easy and quick way to do my eyeliner wing and a everyday eyeshadow look?

Define the browbone with an eyeshadow that is a tad bit lighter than your skin tone and dust on a pinky nude shade to your lid.Define the crease with two browns- a light brown and a dark brown at the edge of the crease/lid area. Blend that shit like cookie batter. The wing. Line your eyes with a black fine point liquid eyeliner. Then pick a point on the peripheral of your eye and draw a dot or something with black eye pencil. This is where the end of the wing will be, so make sure they look even in the mirror, and be sure not to dot it too high.Connect the dot to your liner with a swift glide. Make it as thicccc or as thin as you want. Clean it up with setting spray on a q-tip as you see fit.

Is gel eyeliner better than liquid eyeliner?

I use gel way more often than I use liquid eyeliner for a few reasons. One reason is that as a professional artist, I need to be hygienic. Most liquid liners come in pen form with a felt tip. These tend to be easiest to use because the liner goes into the tip automatically and is always available until the product is used up. That means you don’t have to use a brush and rely on your own skills to determine how much product to apply to your brush and onto your eyes. However, it is difficult to sanitize these, especially without drying out the tip, so these are better for personal use.I find that liquid liner is a little harder to use because it is a little runnier since it is more liquid-y. You have to be very careful about how you apply it, and it takes longer to dry.Gel liner, however, does have a drawback in that sometimes it dries very fast, which means that you may need to work extremely quickly with the product to get it in place before it dries and you can’t fix it without removing it and starting over! You also have to be careful in your use of it to avoid contamination. Generally, gel liner comes in a small pot like this:If you do like in the image and dip your brush into it, apply it to your eye, and then put the brush back in, you could be putting bacteria into your makeup, and then giving it a place to live and grow! Even if you are the only person using this liner, this could be gross and lead to problems.I’d recommend using a small spatula or makeup knife, scooping out only a small amount that you need, and then touching your brush to the spatula/knife, and cleaning the spatula before you use the makeup again. The drawback to both versus a standard pencil is that you have to make sure that the cap or lid is closed entirely, or you could end up with dried up product, which is an expensive waste of money! The look tends to be pretty similar, although there seem to be more colors available in gel versus liquid as well!Like most things with makeup, it boils down to primarily personal preference, but I think gel wins over liquid overall, just by a little bit!
